It was a good hotel for just wanting to explore downtown NYC. The staff were friendly and helpful. Nothing stuffy about the place at all. On the last day the gentlemen booked a service for us to take us to the airport. No disrespect to the lovely people at St James, but the ride was awful and the driver rude. Dropped our luggage and drove without even a thank you/goodbye.

The hotel is vintage and cute. Very clean. Excellent location is very walkable for many sight seeing opportunities. The staff is friendly, especially Joey, who was so nice and helpful! Room was decent size for NYC, clean, well stocked bathroom. Bed wasn't terrible but wasn't great. We slept good though. No complaints for a basic hotel, but a mini refrigerator would be nice. Right next door is a great little store for food, drinks, snacks, etc. For being so close to Times Square, it's pretty quiet and feels safe. We would definitely stay again.

We wanted an old fashioned NY hotel. It didn’t disappoint. The room was clean , cool , comfortable and spacious . Bathroom very clean . Location was excellent, next to Times Square.24 Hour Deli next door fantastic for breakfast, had everything you might want .

It is close to Times Square, room was clean but limiited, no microwave, no coffee making facilities. The upside is there are places to get breakfast 20 yards away. It is an old building, with no a/c apart from the window unit. i would stay again though.

Water was ice cold for 10 minutes. Next to Times Square and loaded with noise until midnight. Bed was on very poor frames so it squeaked a lot.

The room was slightly outdated, however it was really clean. Perfect location, in the middle of everything we wanted to go see during our visit and it was surprisingly quiet. Staff was really nice, luggage storage was really useful. No complaints at all considering the very reasonable price, would definitely go again!

This was a clean basic hotel in a great location. If you want a landing spot to enjoy the city, theatre, shopping and busy New York than this is perfect spot.
