While the rooms were small, as expected, they were well decorated. The hotel was conveniently situated between Times Square and Rockefeller Center, so it was easy to walk to many restaurants, stores and sites. Our only real complaint was the elevators. They often didn't come when called, or stopped working when people got in them. We got stuck on the third floor trying to get up to our floor for over 20 minutes one morning after grabbing breakfast for our family.

The staff was the best part of this property. We weren't prepared for how small the actual rooms were. No bathroom/ shower privacy you basically step out of the shower into the open room so was not ideal for my teen daughter to stay in the same room as her grandparents. We ended up getting an extra room just so everyone had their own space. The hotel being in times square is close to walk to so many tourist places but a literal nightmare to drive to when arriving around check in time.

The room was so tiny felt like a closet. The shower and the toilet had see-through visible glass walls. I was staying with my kids and we couldn’t really take a shower. The bed was comfortable, and the area was very walkable. No parking anywhere near the hotel.

The property was better than I expected at the price point in Times Square over the holidays. Clean and larger than I’d expected. Close to all I wanted to see! A couple issues but overall a great stay. The bathroom door trapped me as it didn’t appropriately slide - they were going to fix it. They have a 24/7 deal but only keep bags after checkout til 6pm because they don’t have a space for them - this was a big hassle as you’d think bags could be held longer if the deal is open. Despite these issues the hotel was just what I needed - a lovely escape!

Great place to stay. Modern and clean. Your within walking distance to see the top places most people come to visit NYC for. My only issue was the bed. Incredibly uncomfortable. There was not more support in the middle of the mattress. I was forced to sleep on my back as you would be in a U shape.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Motto. With that being said, you get what you pay for. The rooms are small, but that’s really all you need when you spend most of your day out and about in the city. My one warning for couples that are traveling together. The bathroom in our room was just a sliding piece of glass. If you are looking for privacy (or ventilation) in the bathroom, there isn’t much. With how close the hotel is to time square and the subway system, we will be staying here on our next trip to the city.

I loved this hotel, such a convenient location and close to Times Square and everything I was interested in doing while in NY. My only complaint is that the rooms were a tad too small. I was traveling with my 2 daughters, and although the beds accommodated the 3 of us, the space was too small. This would be a perfect sized room for 2 grown adults or 1 adult and 2 small children. Nevertheless I liked the hotel, the staff was good, the room was always clean and water, and towels restocked daily.

This location was perfect and within a few minutes walking distance to the theatre district, Times Square, Subway stations and dining. Grand Central was 15 min walking distance. I absolutely enjoyed my stay and will come back again if I return to NYC. Yes, the room was small, but perfect for a solo traveler and actually looked bigger than what the pictures depicted. If going as a group, you can do adjoining rooms as my room had that option on both sides. Modernly decorated and clean (yes daily housekeeping). For lodging in the city and location it was worth it compared to other options that were more expensive.
