What a great place! The location is great, walking distance or just a bus ride away. The staff is super nice. Our room had an amazing view. And the bed…wow, we almost were as happy to stay in bed as to go out! Wouldn’t change a thing. First chance we get, we’ll be back.

The staff members at this hotel are excellent. The room was quite small for two people and I'd probably do the upgrade for more $ if offered again. It would've been nice to have complimentary coffee in the AM at this price point. We were visiting our daughter at NYU and this location worked perfectly for us.

Really nice break from Brand name cramp and inconvenience. Nice area, we are NYU parents visiting and East Village is great for proximity and services. Best towels that I have ever had in hotel including Ritz and JW. Nice food options and great staff who seemed to have a genuine interest in providing a good stay. A bit old fashioned in a good way. I will repeat preferentially.

The bathroom was stylish but the choices that made it look cool made it messy to use. The sink was very small in a large counter, which meant the counter was constantly wet. The shower curtains were made of chain link with minimal coverage by clear shower curtains, so water spread all over the bathroom floor no matter what we did with the showerhead. Usually we skip daily housekeeping to minimize resource use but things got so wet and messy that we had to use it every day. Also, the garden (which we had been looking forward to using) was closed. We decided to pay extra to stay here instead of a more run-of-the-mill chain nearby, but we didn't get anything special out of the experience.

You should try The Standard East Village.
The Standard East Village was the perfect place to stay when we needed to be in SOHO for an event. It was quiet and felt like a true neighborhood spot. The staff were so kind and helpful. The outdoor patio is a great place to unwind after a busy day in the city. What a gem. They also have a wonderful restaurant and bar that is open all day. It has a very cool vibe with delicious choices for all meals or happy hour. The coffee and espresso helped us start our day. The restaurant had indoor and outdoor seating. It was wonderful.
