I liked the fact that they picked me up a date before I checked in because I was staying there for 4 nights. Also that there is a supermarket right next to the hotel so I could buy things like Vaseline and drinks for the NY City Marathon. I liked that my sister drove me to the train station on Friday so I could get my running number.

My stay at the Kenilworth was great. However, what I will never forget is how front desk clerk Ibrahim went above and beyond early in the morning of Oct. 18 when I checked out. I exited the Lyft that he had called for my ride to EWR and panicked to discover that I had left my phone in the back seat. United ground staff Ingrid called the Kenilworth, handed her phone to me, and I told Ibrahim what had happened. He was calm and kind and said he'd call the Lyft driver and would call Ingrid's phone back. I went back out to the curb to see if maybe I had dropped my phone. About 10 min. later, Ingrid came running out and said that the Kenilworth clerk called back to say he'd reached my Lyft driver, who was circling back to the airport to give me my phone. Incredible! I will forever be grateful for the kindness of these three individuals who didn't know each other, but whose kindness worked in tandem to turn what could have been a very bad day into my deep appreciation for their willingness to go above and beyond to help a stranger. The Kenilworth is a great hotel, but what stands out is the excellent customer service, especially from a young man named Ibrahim.
