Perfect stay in cool neighbourhood
We love to stay at the Lucky Hotel when visiting Newcastle. It is a cool place in a great neighbourhood with lots of cool restaurants and bars. Also in walking distance to the renovated sea bath, foreshore and parks.

Best stay in Newy!
I stay here anytime I go to Newy and every time it's a terrific experience. Perfect central location, everything in walking distance, and close to the ocean. Beautiful clean modern rooms, with very comfy bed and pillows. Great showers. Lot of character - the bar and restaurant downstairs is absolutely fabulous. Love the place.

Lucky in Newcastle
All was great! The only thing that would have been good, was to have a bedside lamp. There was one only ceiling light, so very bright when watching TV in bed and I had to get up to turn it off; a little unnecessary given the room was otherwise so thoughtfully renovated and appointed.

What a cute hotel! Everything from the old school suitcases at the reception desk to the flamingos and leaves in the elevator. The room was smaller than I anticipated but the bathroom was a good size. The balcony was also extremely small. The bed, well that was the problem. The one side sagged so badly that when I sat on it, I was almost sitting on the floor. Lying on it I felt like I was going to roll off. I also felt that I was laying in a V with my head and legs where they probably should have been and my body sagging. Should I have gone done and asked someone if we could change rooms? Yes but I don’t want to be an inconvenience. Also the curtains did nothing to block out the light since they were a good inch or two from the top of the ceiling.

Always find the Lucky clean and the staff very pleasant. Food and drinks in the Hotel are good. Just down the road from the Foghorn Brewery, which is a bonus for me...! Some may find some of the rooms small, but I find them quite funky and mostly the prices are excellent.
