I trully apreciate the stay at hotel Abalone for its very friendly staff, cleanliness and security policy (the main entry of the hotel closes after 22.00 and only the hotel tenants and staff can acces, by a private entry through the car parking of the hotel). Two steps away from the train station, it has perfectly served my needs. Also, the town center with the main tourist spots is located not far away.

I feel obliged to explain the negative rating on comfort: we arrived in Nimes in early August, at the height of an incredible heat wave. We were thrilled that the hotel was directly across from the train station because we had such a lot of luggage, and the staff were very friendly. However, it was incredibly hot--we were on the top floor, and despite two fans it was a miserable, sticky, sleepless night.... Again, the heat wave was intense, but if you are travelling in high summer, you might want to search for a place with AC.

Great value, good sleeps.
This is an older hotel but very well looked after. Our room was comfortable with a roomy bathroom and shower. Very quiet at night after the restauants closed. We had lovely sleeps. The breakfast was basic but good, the coffee excellent. We would definitely stay there again.

If you smoke...
Our booked room for a non smoking hotel smelled like cigarettes. The hallway leading up to the room smelled like cigarettes. After opening up the window, it still smelled of cigarettes. We gave it a chance, left hotel for a few hours, returned, still smelled like cigarettes. We asked reception for another room and he was able to accommodate us. Hallway still smelled like cigarettes but room was better.

Good for a sleepover.
Very friendly, welcoming & helpful staff. Right beside train station, I just needed a pit stop & this filled the bill (as a lone male). Internet was unfortunately horrible.

Picture a 1930s hotel room that has had marginal improvements and you'll have a picture of this hotel. Convenient if you riding the train cause it is across the street. The only plus I can give it.

Affordable, accessible and friendly
The hotel could be seen from the train when we arrived - location is a plus! Receptionist was very helpful and friendly, told us where to visit. 60€ triple room for a night with luggage storage. Nimes is also a good base to visit pont du Gard via bus b21. Highly recommend this place! Don't shortchange this place because of its tacky signboard! I'm a student.

Very convenient location
We chose the hotel for its location close to the station. It did look a bit run down from the outside but is freshly decorated inside. The hotel is basic but what you would expect for 2 stars.we were aware that someone had ignored the no smoking rule in our room and the hotel's attempt to mask it was not quite successful. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Very handy position
Needed a place close to train and bus station and also to local attractions for an overnight stay. Room was quiet and clean. Nothing fancy but neither was the price.
