This was awful! The first night there was a cricket making noise in the air conditioner. The rooms smelled like a pound of weed.. My husband went to the front to ask for air freshener and we just kept it. There were no other rooms as it was the 4th of July weekend. Breakfast lasted until 9:00 but there was no more food after 7:30 every morning.

Rooms were not clean. First two we saw did not look cleaned at all. Third that was shown us looked clean enough at first, but then we found dirty/stained sheets when inspecting the beds. Staff came and changed to sheets for us, but bad enough experience that we would not stay there again.

I really tried to overlook the issues with this stay but there were too many to ignore. First, the room reeked of a chemically/pool smell that was overwhelming. My fiance was having terrible coughing fits and it was unbearable. The air was also turned off so it was in the upper 80’s when we arrived. After letting it cool off for a while, we returned to a warm and smelly room. We requested the room be switched and the staff let us choose a new one, smell-free and cool. However, I did find a stain that looked like blood on the sheets and the bathroom door did not close. The pool looked green and was in a dark, rather scary room. I’m only giving this stay two stars because the staff were friendly and helpful.

I had just stayed at the BW in Arlington the previous weekend and I stay at the BW in Corpus Christi every year. The BW in CC is very nice and the BW in Arlington is the nicest BW I've stayed at. Before leaving for this BW, I told my son that BW has been very good. Then I stayed at this BW. it was very unattractive and dirty inside. There is a pool in a large dark room and the water didn't look like I would want to swim in it. There was nothing to hang on the doorknob and there was no literature in the room to tell you anything about the hotel or anything else. The bathroom supplies were also less than previous Best Westerns. When I asked for the password for the wifi, I was told that a password wasn't needed, which is very unusual. The only drinks or snacks available are in vending machines in a hallway near the stairs. The only options for breakfast were fried eggs, sausage, apples, cereal, and danish (in a plastic wrapper), which was disappointing, considering the breakfast options at other Best Westerns. I skipped breakfast the morning I left. This BW could use a remodel and new management.
