Sunrise after the Rain
Sunrise Motel and Inn lived up to its name! We got rained out of the Porkies’ trails and had to come out a day early. The owner welcomed us warmly and we were in our cozy room, showered/bathed and happy shortly after checking in. The bed is very comfortable, the shower is basic but very clean and has good water pressure. Overall it made for a very nice end to an already wonderful trip

A great quick stay. Staff/owners were so kind and helpful. The room was as to be expected, a little musty smelling and made the allergies flare, but otherwise clean enough and had cute decor. The private beach access was super neat and was our favorite part. Overall the whole property is quiet & well put together. They do a nightly bonfire; we didn’t partake but the notion was nice. We’d stay again!

SPOTLESSLY CLEAN, very comfortable beds, fantastic staff, charming decor, easy commute to Porcupine Mountains, wonderful beach across the street, will definitely stay here again if in the area!!! Doesn’t serve breakfast but not a major concern for me. Would be nice to have a shelf or hooks in the bathroom. Absolutely loved this hotel!

The staff was very friendly. The room was clean and nicely decorated, with an Up North theme. The hostess even brought me extra sugar from her kitchen when the packets in the room were not enough for me. (I use a lot of sugar.) My daughter loved the sandy beach with an illuminated pathway to get there. The outdoor facilities were nice, including chairs by our room, picnic tables, grills, and a fire pit. My only complaint is I could not find an outlet in the bathroom. Altogether, we had a nice stay. We recommend this place!

Friendly staff that have a charming set up with outdoorsy decor in the rooms. Very sporty and of the area. Room was exceptionally clean. Loved a real coffee pot with which I could pour a pot of coffee. Nice to have plenty of caffeinated coffee instead of having to ask for more. No decaf here! Thankfully! Loved the lighting which was warm and calming. I could imagine how cozy that would be on a snowy day. Comfy bed.Cozy, warm and comfortable all around.

Great attention to detail and excellent attempt to make it comfortable and homey. Very nice owners and beautiful property. Really liked the private access to the beach. The path is like walking through a fairyland. Recommend this place highly! Check out the curtain rods. So unique!

11 out of 10!!! The owners are fantastic! They go out of their way to make sure you feel like family. Cleanliness of the room, ease of check-in/out, Private beach access, this is definitely going to be a place we come back to every year. We stayed in the motel part but next time I think we will book one of the cabins! They look so quaint and perfect. I can't wait to go back and hopefully it will be a bit drier and less windy so we can have the bonfire that the owners set up. They truly go the extra mile to take care of their friends/family (guests).

Really friendly staff and great location. Path to beach access well maintained and marked. Room was comfortable clean and great value. There were many outdoor seating areas for relaxation and reading. There were only two things we didn’t care for which were unfortunate but not a big deal. There was an outside light from neighbors room that shone right into ours all night long. Couldn’t block it out so that made it hard to stay asleep. Maybe night blocking shade would help. The other unfortunate thing was on our second day they were reroofing the whole place so it was very loud and not peaceful well into evening. Overall a really great find it’s just too bad they did the roofing project on Labor Day.

This motel is amazing!! The owners are so friendly and accommodating. Our room was perfect for what we needed. The path down to the Lake is across the road and absolutely stunning!! Can also sit out in the beautiful yard and bbq or have a fire. It's a little peace of paradise

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They even gave us charcoal and lighter to cook in one of their grills. I would rate them higher if their “free cancellation “ was free. We had to pay an extra night’s stay when we changed dates about a week before our first scheduled stay. The motel blamed Expedia for not refunding the night and Expedia blamed Sunshine Motel. Read ALL the fine print before booking this place.

This was an amazing find! Super friendly owners, clean and just the right amount of remote for us! They have beach access across the street which was awesome! And, the owner builds a fire every night and provides comfortable seating around the firepit to unwind after a wonderful day of exploring the Porkies!!
