We have stayed at Phoenix on several trips to Orange Beach and this is the first time we’ve experienced a dirty unit. We arrived to check in late in the evening. The door to the unit is very hard to open and close it needs to be checked. Upon arrival, the unit smelled unclean and appeared to have not been cleaned. The bathroom was the worst. We had to leave to get more cleaning products, air freshener, and additional cans of Lysol because I refused to unpack our belongings in such disgust. The white shower liner and curtain had some type of red sauce(we hope that’s what it was) smeared all over it and black mildew spots. We immediately threw it away and replaced it with a new liner. Both the bathroom sink and bath tube would not drain water so we had to purchase Drano to be able to shower and not have a pool of water filling the tube as we showered. The sofa needs a shampoo and deep clean, it smelled and had several stains, I used a full 40 oz can of Lysol to soak into the sofa and had to allow it to dry for about 30 minutes. I refused to allow my two small children to sit on it until I could soak it in Lysol. The bed comforter also had this red sauce stains as seen in the bathroom on the outside. The kitchen was semi clean, the pots were still dirty and old scrambled eggs was left in one of the drawers . I also had to mop because the amount of sand on the floor was unbearable. Our first night consisted of cleaning and lots of disinfecting. I was very disappointed in this unit. The owner needs to check behind the cleaning crew because this unit was not cleaned at all prior to our arrival.
