This home is owned by a corporation/company not private owner as it implies, which prompts the word Slumlords to mind when I think of how it's managed! My family of 13 ages 52 to 1yrs rented 7/31 - 8/7. Goal was to have a place for us to relax and roam free of mask and restrictions Deposit May/final non-refund June at which time there was only one questionable review about broken cabinets. 7/6, my daughter noticed 2 new concerning reviews. I immediately contacted Frank stating my concern. Thinking that he was the owner, I took him at his word when he said that all of the issues were taken care of with the change in property managers. At this point all of our travel arrangements were made and rental was nonrefundable.
I had a foreboding feeling & should have contacted VRBO for options. We checked into a completely uncleaned home. The property was vacated by the previous renters and we walked into the same unclean, unsanitary conditions they left behind. The pool had a greasy film on top, the jacuzzi was not working. I was beyond angry as I contacted all of the numbers provided. Finally Frank asked me if I wanted to cancel my booking, at this point it is 5pm Saturday, some of us drove 14hrs - where are we supposed to go? While waiting my adult daughters and I surfaced cleaned the areas where the young children were confined for 3hr+ hours until the cleaners came. This is a huge home, It took till 11:30 pm for a cleaning crew of 3 to clean bedrooms, bathrooms & kitchen only. They found urine on one bed so moved that to garage. Of course there was no clean bedding so they had to bring new linens, we were left to wash our own comforters and pillow shams, "property manager" brought towels no washcloths or hand towels. We were left with 4 pool towels. When asked what happened "PM" told me that I needed to speak with the booking agent. I LOST IT!....we paid a lot of money to rent this place and she is the property manager who should talk to whom? It is untrue that the properties have a 24hr rest period between rentals. We witnessed renters throughout the week check-out at 10am and new in by 4pm all around us. We spent day 1 & 2 cleaning house & washing bedding. Issues: broken beds, soiled beds & bedding, broken cabinets, stools/chairs & vases; dirty pool, walls, dishes & oven; no mats in bath, washer no hot water. TV's super confusing. VRBO was no help at all. Filed claim...waiting w/Pics & video
