For the price - cabin is actually a cramped room, tired furnishings and unpleasant smell. Food at restaurant is bland at best but inedible at worst. Staff are helpful and doing their best.

The room itself was quite adequate but if we go again we would try to get a larger one. The lighting in the room was poor. Also, it was difficult to close the door without slamming it; which was not good when someone from neighbouring rooms came in late at night. We had a very good dinner and breakfast in the snug (because we had a dog with us). The food was very good but the staff - particularly those serving breakfast - gave the impression that they would rather be somewhere else. The person that gave us our breakfast this morning didn't even speak when I spoke to him. Not impressed!

Lovely location, excellent food and service. Very convenient being able to come and go as wanted. People on reception exceptionally helpful and nice. Very impressed and will recommend to others.

Shockingly bad service. Good Breakfast.

Shockingly bad service at this hotel. Checked in at 8.45pm to be told no dinner service as fully booked restaurant but hot food open at the bar by "new" receptionist who couldn't be bothered to even look at me. Given room and walked across; opened my room door to find a couple in my bed! door slammed on my face and walked back to reception receptionist gave room on other sided of hotel, recommended car to drive across to second carpark; asked for a closer one, given another room! dropped bags off in room and walked back to bar. 9:05pm told the kitchen had closed and no hot food available, explained the situation and that I had driven 4 hours from London to Leeds. offered a complimentary cold sandwich. No choice but to accept. Went back to room; turned lights on and noticed filthy carpet with red drinks marks all over; windows would not close correctly. Too tired, stayed in bed. Checked out by 7.30am. Would never recommend.

Not a great experience

The main hotel looked nice but I was put in a room in a log cabin in the woods. No light outside the room door made it feel unsafe. TV was not working and the manager who fixed it commented on the dark approach but the receptionist did not have a torch on offer. The bathroom had no heating. It was an icy night so this was a great shame.

Nice location

Pros: It was clean and friendly and the pool was just a short walk from our room breakfast was very good plenty to choose from
On this occasion we only stayed one night if we had to go back to that part of the country we would consider staying longer
