Staff are top-notch as expected. Pool was nice and warm. Breakfast was adequate if chaotic. Parking situation is terrible; had to park up the street in a sketchy neighbourhood due to full lot. Location is not great; two shelters across the street and aggressive panhandlers literally walking through active traffic on a four-lane road. Zero dining options within a 10-15 minute walk. Staff chose to clean all of the "24/7" coffee urns at 6am -- certainly this could have been done the night before, or at least stagger the cleaning so that there's at least one urn available at all times. I look for Holiday Inn wherever I travel but I will think twice next time I stay in Ottawa. Not the people's fault so much as the property itself.

The hotel room was very clean, well kept and modern. The continental breakfast had a lot of choices. Also, there was complimentary coffee and tea on the main floor throughout the day. The pool was a leisure pool, but a little small. Parking was extra but they only had limited spaces. Overall hotel experience was great.

Everything was just ok…need more towels in each room….Doesn't look good that you have to have a security guard at the front of the hotel. I didn’t feel safe, I felt more alarmed than anything….If I would have known there was a security guard at the front desk I would have stayed somewhere else. I had a baby with me. The hallways and front desk had a weird scent. Very strong scent. Body odour and Indian food combined. It was noticeable as soon as you walked into the building. Even the elevators had that scent. The room was not bad….The shower head was not my favourite, and definitely needs cleaning.

No hot water in the room. Unable to shower. Manager on night shift did not offfer any compensation. Sent maintenance staff who was unable to fix anything and advised I would have to talk to day manager. This was on overnight stay only. Their inability fix the issue or provide proper compensation was very disappointing.
