Did not meet our expectations
We planned for over a year for our family trip to Ireland, 9 of us (4 grandchildren) a special vacation, and we reserved the house for 5 nights. Upon arrival, the house exterior presents poorly; appears poorly maintained from the outside, lowering expectations for the inside. However, the entire grounds are impressively maintained and landscaped, the grandchildren enjoyed playing on the private well-protected grounds. Mary the housekeeper works hard to keep the house clean. She is a real asset to the house and the owner. The location is a short walk to the town for restaurants & pubs. It is well located for touring parts of western Ireland, especially Galway and Connemara. The bus stop is convenient to the house and an easy ride to Galway City. The house smells musty and moldy, especially in the living and dining rooms.
We had issues with 2 of the 3 toilets. The house needs maintenance and reinvestment.
Our stay did not meet our expectations and could have been better.
Require coins to pay for the electricity. Very frustrating!
One of the three bathrooms functions well. One had flushing issues, and one had a seat that would not stay up for men. The kitchen is well equipped; however, the coffee maker doesn’t work (kept overflowing). Overall, if you are handy and can adjust expectations, the house works OK for a large family with plenty of beds and bedrooms. However, we would not recommend it to anyone who has allergies or breathing issues.
