When I saw this ad, it didn't specify the sleeping arrangements. I reached out to the host to confirm.
The host confirmed the # and types of beds which was exactly what we were looking for. This room was about $100/night more than the other/similar rooms at the time of my booking, but because it had 2 queen beds in the studio vs 1 king bed, we booked this room. Our daughter has asthma and the air quality in Palm Desert can be poor so when we go to the desert, one adult needs to sleep in a room with our daughter to listen to her breathing.
At check in, the studio wasn't ready so we unloaded everything in the main room. At check-in, we were told the property was fully booked because 5 of the buildings were undergoing renovations.
2 hours later, the studio was ready and we saw it only had a king bed. I contacted the host and let them know our frustration and that I specifically booked this room and paid more for the sleeping arrangements. The host told me that the front desk determines the room. Had I have known this prior to checking in, I would have confirmed AT CHECK IN the sleeping arrangements.
The host offered to find me a studio near by, but this doesn't allow us to listen to our daughter sleep as there are several walls between us. The host then offered to take $250 off our reservation. I explained that this didn't even cover the difference had I have just booked the other room. I didn't get any response after that from the host. We left a night early.
