The property was beautiful and very clean, the small touches were super cute. They left us chocolates, the blankets were nice, and the AC felt perfect on the hot days of the Palm Desert. The backyard was amazing, very nice and relaxing - there are hummingbirds that visit often and there are citrus trees in the back.
A few qualms, the beds were very firm and if you have hip issues - the king bed is not for you. The hot water issue was easy to figure out, I noticed others on here had that problem as well, but in our case the hot water ran out after 5 minute showers. On top of that, the hot water that we did have was scalding, and then when it did run out it would become icy. There was no in between. The waterfall shower head was a great touch, but it was upsetting to not to be able to enjoy for longer.
There was a lack of house rules/check in rules/check out rules - we were messaged by the host to have us contact them upon check in, but because we were at an event, we didn’t get the notification to do so until the morning after. We let them know that the rules were unclear and subsequently apologized, but moving forward it would be nice to detail your rules a little better.
The biggest qualm was the lack of disclosures concerning the security cameras on the outside of the house, per VRBO’s surveillance camera policy, any security cameras must be disclosed on the property page. It was jarring to be recorded and surveilled without agreeing to it in the rental agreement, other rentals I have stayed at have always disclosed them and this felt like an invasion of privacy. It frightened me to think that if these cameras on the outside weren’t disclosed, if there were others anywhere inside the house.
Overall, it is a new property and understandably the hosts are new to this as well - if these issues were fixed it would have been a wonderful place to stay.
