I was downgraded
My husband and I decided to stay here for my birthday. We originally booked the King room, but then upgraded to the King suite. Before we got there I received a call that the King Suite we were booked in had taken on water damage and they downgraded us to a standard room, a queen. When I got there the front desk was very kind, said they’d waive the amenity fee ($35) and the front desk upon check out would refund us for the MAJOR down grade. Upon check out I went to the front desk, he offered 30% off at first. I was a little irritated because we didn’t ask for the down grade. So I said no I need the difference between what we booked and paid for vs what we actually got, a King Suite and a standard Queen. He ended on 50%. I accepted because I didn’t want to argue. However I don’t think I should have even had to ask to only pay for what we actually stayed in vs what we booked. Had that not happened I would have given the stay 5 stars. But I was disappointed.
