Very glad we went out of season...

We stayed at the Kata Palm Resort for 12 days and loved every minute. The staff were great and not once did we encounter a surly or unfriendly / unhelpful person. There was no pressure to sell you trips from the concierce / travel desk at the entrance and yet friendly advice and free maps because we had booked our own vehicle for the duration. Room service was exceptionally fast and the food was as good as you would expect it to be. Contrary to other reviewers who have complained about the breakfast options, we found the choices varied and plentiful. We also had a lovely chat to the new food and beverage manager, a lovely young man with great ambition and wonderful plans...perhaps we will go back next year to see all the changes he spoke about so enthusiastically. The one man band who is the evening entertainment is admittedly, not the best but friendly and entertaining nonetheless. However, the young barman is wonderfully cheeky with a really mischieveous face and demeanour..he was the highlight of our evening and kept us laughing and made the most wonderful cocktails and fruit carvings. And don't be put off by weather warnings about monsoon season, we did encounter rain on a couple of occasions but the heat remains, it dries quickly and the holiday was still great fun. (In fact in the intense heat you may even find yourself appreciating the odd burst of cooling rain)

Nous y avons séjourné 3 semaine en deluxe pool access. L’hôtel est d’une très belle architecture Thai. Le petit déjeuner est correct mais la plus part du temps c’est froid malgré les réchauds. Agréable piscines, mais la piscine paysagée de notre chambre pool access était très sale, vaseuse. Ils passent le matin pour enlever les fleurs et feuilles à la surface mais ne nettoient pas le fond, donc y a de la vase. On l’a signalé plusieurs fois mais rien n’a été fait de correct. La chambre est belle mais beaucoup trop de poussière de partout, le ménage est fait à la va vite. Je suis asthmatique, allergique aux acariens donc j’ai toussé tout le temps malgré mon antihistaminique. L’hôtel est très bien placé. A 5 minutes à pied de la sublime Kata beach. A proximité, il y a pleins de restaurants, des boutiques souvenirs et du night market. Cet hôtel a un très gros potentiel mais très dommage que ça ne soit pas propre. Un gros effort est à faire à ce niveau là. Nous n’y retournerons pas.

Alles war grandios. Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit direktem Pool access und konnten uns jederzeit abkühlen. Leider war die Poolbar, welche gerade vis a vis war nicht immer offen ;)

Tolle Hotelanlage mit Pool und integrierter Gartenanlage

Das Hotel liegt nicht direkt am Strand aber dieser ist zu Fuss gut und einfach über die Strasse in 5 Minuten erreichbar. Die Hotelanlage ist sauber und gepflegt. Der Pool ist toll kombiniert mit viel Grün. Das Zimmer hat eine gute Grösse und war stets sauber. Ausser das Einchecken hat ewigs gedauert. Die Dame an der Reception war schlicht überfordert und hat uns auf einen kleine Geduldprobe gestellt.

Verblijf Kata Palm Resort

Verblijf en locatie is prima. Service en gastvrijheid laat echt te wensen over, highspeed WiFi?????? Erg slechte WiFi dus. Dit hotel is absoluut geen 4 sterren waard, ontvangst niet gastvrij. Geen excursies etc regelen vanuit hotel, loop even de hoofdstraat op en regel t daar (ook goedkoper). Hotelmanagement dient echt veranderingen door te voeren incl hun eigen houding/werkwijze/etc.

Bon hôtel mais peu de services

Bel hôtel à la déco Thaï soignée. Les piscines, lagon et le jardin sont très soignés. Les chambres sont spacieuses et la plage n'est pas loin. C'est côté service que le ''resort'' n'est pas tout à fait au niveau. Personnel qui ne parle que peu l'anglais, et au bar et restaurant autour de la piscine, il est difficile de se faire servir. Dommage.
