The hotels grounds are amazing. Even if you don't stay there, it is worth a visit. The restaurant wasn't very good, and the food was expensive. It seems like the hotel has seen better days. Maybe it was worth the price back in the day, but now seems overpriced .

A very warm welcome from reception staff 17/08 where we were provided with a shot of whiskey. The service of staff after check in was disappointing as non of them were interested and only wanted to get the job done and not interact with guests. No warmth from housekeeping or in the restaurant. The bar entertainment was lacklustre and the man performing also looked like he’d rather be elsewhere. We had a lovely valley view room- stunning view and the decor was gorgeous. Had a fan running all night as the heat in the room was exceptional and windows don’t open. Breakfast was quite basic quality food. Plates nice and hot as was the buffet hot food which is a big positive for me.

Hotel is situated in a beautiful setting.We used the pool and found it to be clean and well maintained. One minor point I’m not sure that the vegetable based milk to be used for the coffee in our room was a good idea!! Overall really enjoyed our stay and have no hesitation about booking here again.

First the positives, the hotel itself was nice, clean and comfortable. The facilities and pool were well maintained and absolutely clean. The two Aussies and Euan behind the bar, the hotel staff and Monica in the restaurant were absolutely fabulous. The food served at the restaurant and bar for lunch and dinner were of good quality and well presented - it is obvious that someone is paying attention to detail. Now sadly the negatives starting at the worst, most of the staff at the restaurant sadly were terrible, dismissive and seemed perpetually angry. The two restaurant managers especially seemed peeved off at something every time one saw them. Greeted every time with a mere "Room Number!?" with no greeting/please/thank you or eye contact. The food and drink prices have to be next. I understand the majority of their business seems to come from tour groups but that's no excuse for highway robbery. £10 for a single cafetiere, £19.5 for an Aperol Spritz, £25 for a burger with chips - are some of the examples from the ridiculously overpriced menus. Next I'd need to mention the breakfast, quality wise this was closer to a chain motel then a supposed 4-star hotel. Pancakes aren't meant to have a crust, scrambled eggs aren't usually swimming in a liquid and coffee isn't meant to be translucent. Lastly I have to just mention the "landlord-special" paint jobs. Loads of windows were painted shut - including our bathroom window. Overall not impressed by this 4-star establishment.

My experience was excellent. I stayed there as I was attending a wedding held at the Atholl Palace. The venue looked stunning, the event was excellent, the room extremely comfortable and breakfast great. It was a lovely treat.

We have stayed 3 times at Atholl Palace and it's somewhere that we find very relaxing and it's suits our taste. The room we had this visit was very large with lovely views. From the hotel, it's a nice walk into Pitlochry main street and off the main street you have lots of walks that can be taken.

Lovely hotel, very traditional style. Friendly and comfortable. Too much paperwork given out at check in - I was given 4 different things - surely some of this could be emailed or on tv on arrival - not great for environment. Breakfast was chaos and not very well organised - I was asked to wait but then they wrote my room number wrong so I didn’t get called. When I did get in I had ate some food and went up to get more and my whole table was cleared!! Also had to ask for things to be replenished in the buffet

It was understaffed in restaurant therefore staff not friendly. Evening meal was only passible for presentation but OK for quantity. Various items for breakfast ran out and it was therefore necessary to wait until certain trays were replenished
