The hotel in general is very run down. Our room was very poor and in desperate need of an upgrade, but given it was the Highland Games weekend, I think we got the last hotel room in Pitlochry, we put up with it!! Good breakfast and waiting staff were fantastic. The hotel was let down slightly by staff around reception, at one point a member of staff was stood on the customer side of reception eating his dinner. Not a good look

The staff are very friendly,the building is out snd the decor is outdated. We had a nice stay there. The only negative i would say was the room had a musty smell to it. For one night though it was okay.

Nice Hotel
The hotel is lovely inna beautiful setting. The room was spaciouscand comfortable. We had an issue with the sink. It would not drain and the shower pressure was extremely poor. Food and breakfast was nice. Pet friendly hotel. Ir was lovely to see all the pooches enjoying there hotel break. I would return.

This property is not for the faint hearted nor those that do not like dogs. The whole hotel needs refurbishment from the Victorian plumbing, single glazed windows and the quality and condition of the furniture. My radiator only barely worked; we were also next to the lift which rumbled all night. The bath had a large chip in the enamel. The electric towel rail was too close to the loo and risked burning yourself. The bath panel was tiled and looked like it had been grouted by a 3-year-old and the room was painted by someone with no knowledge of painting edges. The food, at best, I would say is like canteen food, chips with everything. The coffee pots in the morning boil the coffee till it is stewed and the sausages were herbed and could have been done with being straight pork. Nobody ever asks if you are enjoying the food, I wonder why? All in all, it resembles a poorly run and maintained care home. You get what you get. However, room was clean. plenty of hot water when it arrived, comfortable bed and Dining Room staff were very polite. The people who run this hotel just don't know what good looks like and it shows. It is managed to a cost. The 8 piece gym had equipment that was not working, but no tickets of it. Being only 8 pieces that made it virtually unusable. People come for the pool and this added on gym just needs closed and the pool area extended. Pitlochry Hydro has the building blocks to be a really good hotel, it just lacks of care and attention.

The hotel was very tired and desperately in need of some TLC, from paint carelessly left on windowpanes, to decrepid outdoor facilities. The food was much the same. As though they were all pretty much past caring.
