Great staff, not-so-great location

The staff is great - they are ready and willing to help you with information, a late-night latte, or some good conversation. Victoria was especially great. The hotel itself has a good gym, posh furniture, and nice rooms. On the down side, the location of this hotel is not the best. It is on the cusp of Pearl District and unfortunately on a street where there's a lot of homeless people. If I would've known this, I would not have stayed here. Anytime I walked in the morning to get a coffee or walking back from a restaurant, I'd come across homeless people wandering around. I believe there is a place that gives food/soup kitchen right across the street and there's a park on the same block nearby that looks a little shady. It didn't make me feel safe if I walked at night so I'd take uber. It is a couple of blocks from restaurants and cafes so very convenient but if you're a female traveler, choose somewhere else in my opinion. No microwave, coffee makers or fridge in the room so it's tough if you want to have your own food or re-heat last night's dinner although the girls at the front desk were willing to help me with that.

Super cool architecture...i like the little hang out areas downstairs. One glitch...no one around this AM when i went to leave. I was hoping i could get a coffee for the road...and i had a couple of questions...no big deal. When i did see/ interact with staff they were awesome!
