Great experience, wonderful staff, so gracious and helpful! A true 5 ***** star experience. Heads up to our American friends/travelers, Uber will not drive you directly to the hotel because, the road is very narrow (just very old) and most Ubers will not chance it. Local taxis, however, will though! Enjoy!

Absolutely gorgeous hotel
What are very very special place. Absolutely stunning design and structure. The staff were so helpful with everything we needed on our day trips and taxis, etc. Rooftop was great, but very comfortable. This was recommended to us by a friend that stayed last year. And we will recommend to others that come to Porto.

When our driver was unable to take us down the narrow alley to the front door, and we had to drag our suitcases over cobblestone, we became concerned. We learned later that his car was simply too large for the street. When the door opened, it was like a magic portal to a wonderful and warm environment with staff that was just amazing. Our room was wonderful. Location was excellent. We absolutely loved our stay. Obrigado!!!

We planned an extended stay in Porto of 9 nights and we chose to stay at Hotel Das Virtudes. We did have some concerns about the length of stay should we not like the property. Those fears were quickly dispelled. From the rooftop patio, to the wonderful breakfast there was nothing not to like. The building is beautifully refurbished with a couple of enjoyable seating areas. The rooms were spacious, quiet, clean and comfortable and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is perfectly situated to the Duoro and downtown areas. This is a hotel we would highly recommend. Definitely will be back our next stay in Porto.

Hotel Das Virtudes is a stylish, modern hotel with comfortable rooms, extremely courteous and helpful staff and a great restaurant which served wonderful breakfast. There is lovely rooftop bar that serves casual food and an upscale restaurant downstairs (where breakfast is served in the mornings). It is great value for money considering the caliber of the accommodation and the service. The only downside (which we knew about from reviews and chose to ignore) is that it is located down a narrow alley that Ubers do not drive down so you have to find your way to the hotel from a small square down the street and drag your bags over the cobblestones on arrival. When we left the hotel the staff called us a taxi and the taxi drivers do drive down the street and pick up outside. In addition, if you want to access the upper section of Porto from the hotel, the easiest route is up a series of staircases through a small park located next door. The park is rather "sketchy" feeling with trash and people sleeping there overnight..I was traveling with my spouse so this wasn't a problem but I would not have felt happy to walk through there in the evening on my own or with a female friend..Most of the time we arrived and left along the small road rather than through the park but the hotel's slightly "off the beaten track" location is its only drawback.
