The breakfast area is excellent, big and the food was good for Continental. Staff was great cheerful, helpful and pleasant. Rooms are clean, ocean view including powerlines and rooftops but that's not really a big deal. Rupert itself is pretty shabby these days so the area around the hotel is shabby and lots of homeless, It's expensive but we used points so no big deal. All around good place to stay.

Floor, sink countertop were dirty. Shower caulking is stained. Housekeeping was requested and it was never completed. Old carpet and doors. Although some things were renovated, still feels dated and dirty. Try somewhere else.

Despite our early arrival time (off the ferry from Port Hardy) we were able to leave our bags all day until we checked in at 4pm. The option of an early breakfast from 6am made it easy to get to the train terminal in time for a 7am check in. All worked very well. Comfortable rooms.

Third time not so lucky

Had 3 two-night stays in Sept. First 2 were fine - nice room, good location, good breakfast. Third visit (Sept 28-29) I booked an ocean view room at a higher cost. Room was under furnished. Only one chair for two people, only fixed bedside lights in main room so no chance of reading or working after sunset in the one comfortable chair. One of us had to sit on the footstool or try and sit on the bed to read or catch up on e-mail. We did have an ocean view, but it wasn’t nearly enough to make up for the extra cost. Also had a king bed - I had booked a queen, which would have been a better bed for that room (but there was room for an extra chair and a floor lamp in any event). As it was only a one-day stay and we were leaving early for the ferry on the 30th I didn’t take my complaint to the front desk, so they didn’t have a chance to fix things. Nevertheless the room should never have been given to us in that state for that price. A very disappointing third stay at the Oceanview.

Beds were a bit too firm, but they had good pillows. Water pressure wasn't strong and they had a boil water warning so didn't trust drinking their tap water. They had one elevator under repair and had construction in the lobby on the entry door. Staff were very unhelpful when asked if we could do a late checkout for one of our two rooms if we released one of them. They said no as both our rooms were rented. We checked in quite late so didn't use them the whole time we could have and we were only asking for an additional hour 11-12 and their checkin time is 3pm which should have allowed for them to clean it, so I don't think we were asking that much.

First time in Prince Rupert. Pros: Great view, convenient, good coffee at breakfast and easy to find. Cons: Our room was never cleaned, garbage emptied, bed made or fresh towels in the three days we were there. We also requested an extra pillow and they did not have any. Also our air conditioner/heater stopped working. Luckily it appeared to just be a breaker. So we managed to fix it both times.

Yes the ocean was visible from our room. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Stafff was friendly and helpfull and the hotel is in a very nice central location. We enjoed our stay!
