Lovely retreat

The house was plenty big enough for the 7 of us who stayed there. It is clean, well stocked and the host was great at communicating. The pictures are accurate. It felt as if we were in a remote area with no neighbors even though another house shares the driveway, you would never know they are there. Rocket, the cat was very friendly and wanted to come in the house, so be careful about that. He actually jumped into our car when we left the door open for a minute! It was a great location for us to visit Bear Mountain, Cold Spring and West Point.

What a fabulous place!

We had a wonderful visit in Putnam Valley! We loved watching the leaves fall, and loved the tranquility of the area. We will definitely be back! Dom was a responsive host. I couldn’t recommend this place more! Be sure and check out Bear Mountain! As far as the house goes, it’s well stocked with everything you need. Very comfortable, beautiful surroundings.

Great Home for Wedding Weekend

Paradise in its natural form

This day was nothing short of amazing. The tranquility of the home, the land, the amenities, and the township was phenomenal. If you’re on the hustle all the time this is a great place to sit back relax and get in touch with yourself. Everything from the screen porch to the fire pit, The amazing surround sound created such a tranquil environment. If you’re looking to get away from the city life, this is highly recommended not to mention it is not far from the city . Everything is in very close proximity so you do not have to travel far for any. Items you may need. We look forward to returning back to this location. The host was amazing with communication and very humble. I recommend this place 100% and if I could give it 10 stars I would.

Family Reunion

Every two to three years we take the whole family on a getaway vacation. This trip was a change of pace from the previous ones - Disney, Canadian Rockies - and it was PERFECT. The house was perfect for the size of our family, and the ambiance could not have been better. The s'mores on the last night overthe fire pit in the back yard was a fitting conclusion to a marvelous long weekend.

Bob' s weekend

Family gathered from near and far to Celebrate our brother Bob. The house description was accurate and all in good working order. We depleated the hot water fairly quickly on one morning but went at a slower pace the next day and all was good. The cat Rocket from next door was always ready for some lovin when going out or returning home. Our weather didn't cooperate for use of the screen in porch or fire pit which was infortunate but no ones fault! A beautiful weekend !

Spacious Retreat

My extended family of 9 and I stayed here for several days and had a pleasant experience. The layout is great for large groups with 3 bedrooms on the lower level, 3 bedrooms on the main floor and a huge loft upstairs. There was plenty of room for people to spread out without being on top of each other. There were also a lot of nice personal touches in the home and it was very clean. Worth being aware of is there are a fair amount of stairs if you have older family members, but the ground floor does have a sizeable bedroom and kitchen of its own. There is also a neighbor's cat that likes to hang around (mentioned in the listing). However, he did sneak in and wasn't the friendliest when we had to move him.

Cozy and convenient

Easy access to train station to NYC and easy 25-30min to West Point for anyone headed there! Easy stay for larger groups with 3 bathrooms with plenty of linens available. Loved the ability to have various sleeping arrangements for all ages and plenty of blankets/cozy spaces. The beds, in our opinion, were incredibly comfortable. Kitchen is well stocked and made cooking and seating for larger group very easy. Outdoor porch and firepit super relaxing. Great property.

Exceptional Property and Experience

This is an excellent place to stay! The home was very clean and well equipped throughout. Three bedrooms on the main floor (1 king/master, 1 queen, and 2 twins). A 4th full queen bedroom is on the lower level with its own living/sitting area and a full kitchen. One of our couples had a toddler, so this mini-apartment was perfect for letting him spread out toys, etc without impinging on the main living area upstairs. The screened in porch was particularly nice for visiting and enjoying the sounds of birds and the nearby creek. There is a steep driveway up from the street which is shared with the neighbor. Despite the mention of parking in the listing (2 spaces), you can easily park 5 or 6 normal sized cars and/or trucks next to the house without impacting the neighbors' right-of-way. Contrary to a separate reviewers comments, there is absolutely no evidence of pets in the home in spite of the friendly neighbors' cat's best efforts to be invited in. Communications with Dom were quick, cordial and helpful -- everything you'd want. The only caution I'd mention would apply to those with an impairment to their mobility. Not an issue for us, but there are lots of steps in this house almost everywhere you go -- sunken living room, split level from kitchen to bedrooms, one floor up to the TV room, etc. So, folks using a wheelchair or even a walker/cane would find getting around somewhat challenging. Otherwise, this is a great place to stay with attentive hosts -- a real pleasure.

Sisters Getaway

We had an absolutely wonderful time at “The Lodge”! Everything about the house was perfect and well thought out. From the plush towels, seating areas down to the essential oils in the bathroom! It has a warm and cozy feel while being spacious for the 7 of us friends. Clean and fresh! Plenty of places to be together and have privacy if you wanted. - Indoor and out! Time was taken to make sure whatever you would need was accessible and labeled. The decor eas pleasing to the eyes . The hosts were great- Attentive and informative! We are definitely open to going back for another wonderful stay. Thanks Donnie and Jaime!

Amazing!

The pictures don't even do this home justice. It's a truly magical property with everything you need from a large yard with a fire pit to comfortable beds with plenty of space for sleeping and relaxing. I could recommend this property or host more. 10/10 stay. Will definitely return!
