We liked the location. We arrived by Uber so we did not have to deal with the difficulty of parking which apparently is very frustrating. The "hotel" is two adjoining houses with an unmanned reception desk and a living room. As others have mentioned, there are many steps and no elevator. The rooms are small but attractively decorated. Overall it is a basic small historic hotel with no services at all. You self check in with a code that is given to everyone who needs to get in and are given a room code which is so obvious to figure out that anyone who has stayed there could enter any room, any time. Our Nespresso machine did not work and blinked non-stop, we reported it and never even received an acknowledgment. We stayed 3 nights. Other guests were frustrated because they could not reach anyone for help. The only staff persons seen are the cleaning staff and they don't speak English or care to be burdened with the job that someone else should be doing. Location is great with the ability to walk anywhere. It worked out for us but we would probably choose someplace else next time.

Conveniently located hotel in the heart of old Quebec City. Easy walk to all major attractions and restaurants. The hotel is actually two side by side mansions converted into a lobby and lovely rooms. There is No elevator and there is No reception staff. The hotel is mobile check in only. We walked up the narrow staircase to our third floor room but only after taking the wrong set of stairs and having to figure out the numbering system. Our room was smaller than expected and too warm for the weather. But it was decorated well with vintage furniture. Frankly we didn’t spend much time in our room. So it was all we really needed. Just be sure when you leave your room you have everything you need because you’re walking upstairs to get it.

Hotel is a beautiful Victorian style hotel with great period style decor. However, there is no staff on the property so you have to communicate through the phone via text. We paid for early check in but the room was not ready until 2 hours after what we paid for. We did get refunded for those two hours, however our code to enter the room still did not work. The other problem was that 2 times during our stay a housekeeper or someone else entered our room without knocking while the door was double locked. Since there was no one on property to help us nothing was resolved. The positive of the experience was the beautiful decor and the location was perfect.

The property was fine. My big concern was the lack of staff. They are fully remote. That means any questions you have, you have to text or call. No one to ask about recommendations for things nearby, etc. The other guests were helpful to point out things that they had learned since they had been there, like milk in the refrigerator in the basement and extra towels down there as well. It just felt a bit odd for a hotel. The room was very nice and clean. The location was terrific! Make sure to secure parking spot before you get there as they only have five total.

Location was excellent, beautiful area of Quebec City, building rustique like, walk back in time, But, no staff on hand, no elevator, if you are out of shape, elderly, or travel with big luggage’s, think about it, steep stairs. Our room was extremely warm, air co, was not started beforehand, after a call, supposed to be on after, but so warm, slept with window open, and then hear all outside, not a restful stay.

The hotel is very nice and quite old. Rooms are good sized and are decorated in keeping with the period. Ceilings had the rough beams. Floors are hardwood. The bathroom incorporated some of the original brick. There are two caveats. They have no elevator and the floors are pretty high so if you have a room on the third floor, it is a bit of a challenge. They tell you this but just be aware. The second item is there is no one on site. You get codes to get into the front door and your room. This all worked quite well. They have good WIFI, extra towels, cups, etc. and they have an ice machine so you really don't need anyone but if if you need help it is a phone call and there is no house phone so you really need Canada coverage on your cell phone. Other than that the hotel is great. Location is super and convenient to restaurants and attractions. Short walk to just about everything.

We were traveling with parents with mobility issues and specifically requested a ground floor room. Unfortunately when we arrived the keypad for their room didn't work. Since there is no staff on-site I emailed, texted and tried calling three times before I finally reached someone. They assumed we had entered the code incorrectly which felt insulting as we had easily entered our room on the second floor and it wasn't a complicated process. When I finally convinced them the key pad didn't work, they had to send someone with a key. It was a very poor experience for our parents and that was very disappointing to us as we had gifted them the room.
