Do not stay here. 10 cars, including ours, were broken into overnight right in front of the hotel. There was no security overnight and the person at the front desk was no where to be found. According to management, this was not the first time this happened. Our stay was less than stellar prior to the break in. The hallways were unkempt (a used bandaid laid in our hallway for an entire day), the staff overnight was less than friendly and seemed unphased that we were up at 3 am in the morning dealing with police and glass all over our car. In addition, we told the cleaning staff we were leaving for the day and would like our room cleaned. When we returned, the room was still dirty. Really disappointed, as I always try to stay at an Aloft when traveling.

Pool area was dirty, bugs, funny smell. Rooms felt very basic. Fire station next door. No emergencies during our stay but could be annoying to hear sirens in the middle of the night.

We truly enjoyed our stay as it was convenient to the University campus and the property and room were clean and excellent price. We were close to restaurants and it was easy to find. The only complaint would be parking as it is very limited and if you do not arrive in the evening early it can be hard to find a spot.

This is a stylish new moderate budget hotel. I appreciated the many contemporary design touches. The desk staff I met were beyond courteous to genuinely friendly. They were also efficient which was also appreciated. Everything in the room was good, including the HVAC and thermostat, even the blinds worked well, with some comparatively small problems. The mattresses were very tired and should have been replaced. The sliding door to the bathroom took exceptional effort and strength to move. And the mini-fridge had lost all its shelves inside. Overall, though, we were quite happy and would stay there again.

Beware of parking
If you’re staying here and have a car to park….BEWARE there are specific places in the garage to park or you will be towed. Some are labeled No hotel, some are labeled residents and some not labeled and then lastly there are some labeled “hotel” in red. They will tow you and they won’t notify you even with tag hanging in car. That was very disappointing. I got in super late and sent to the garage to park and didn’t get a heads up on this. So letting you know since front desk may not tell you and there is no sign at check in or the front of garage. Front sign says you’re in the right garage! The tow company says it happens a lot but Aloft management isn’t responsible since it isn’t their garage. And there is another sign on the side of the post but not the main entrance. Unfortunate and costly part of my trip.
