Still a good place to stay

I was delighted to use my hotels.com points to stay at the Sheraton for a fraction of the cost of other hotels in the downtown SLC area. I had stayed at the Sheraton a few years ago and remembered it was a nice place. I was glad to see it still was. Everything was seamless from check-in until we left. The parking is so nice too. A little walk to the Salt Palace but not too bad.

Terrible experience if not worst ever and we travel a lot. Didn’t sleep at all because of a party nexr door involving loud music, voices and smoking (not just cigarets) that could be smelled from our adjacent room, all this till at least 7AM. Talked to the hotel reception theee time during the night but despite the security guy attempts nothing changed. We were refunded the night free breakfast 1000 Marriott points but we had to fight for it and top management was cold and not very understanding. This was way unsufficient for an excuse knowing that we were jetlagged and travelling with kids, that it was my birthday, that we are both Marriott members and use Marriott hotels a lot and that we slept less than 3 hours that night. Don’t go to this hotel. Some of their customers are unrespectful and the hotel does little to fix that. Their security guy is definitly not intimidating enough!

Good Trip

The front desk clerk was very nice and answered my questions with a smile. The room was clean and comfortable. It was within walking distance of the Salt Palace and several good restaurants. The neighborhood appeared safe and clean. The room was quiet. Breakfast was very good and the staff of servers and hostess were nice.
