There’s a bunch of construction going on nearby but other than that, this is a beautiful historic hotel with plenty of TX charm and right near the historic Alamo.

Loved the historical aspect of the property and the many old photos in the lobby, some dating to the 1800's. The location is great. Easy walk to a concert at the Alamodome. Breakfast buffet pricey but very good. The rooms are small and tight. The bathroom miniscule, with a tub and shower so tiny.beyond words. Walls paper thin. Loud snoring next room over made for horrible sleep, my worst in many years.

Great location. Beyond that rooms were very small and the king mattress should’ve been replaced years ago (multiple night backache). Having Housekeeping only for 4 night or longer stay was also a negative.

Horrible bathroom!!
When we arrived, the receptionist tried to get us to take a room with two queen beds instead of a king which is what we had booked. It took about 10 extra minutes for them to get it back to a king. When we arrived to the room, it was very old school with a decent amount of space. In the bathroom, however, there was little space and there was a step in tub. The toilet was so close to the counter that my shoulder touched it while I was sitting on the toilet. As I stood up, the corner scraped my side. Also, the hot water in the shower was not constant! It came in waves and went from very hot to lukewarm every few seconds. The beds were fairly comfortable but there were no blackout shades to block the morning sun. Also, they are currently redoing their courtyard or area near The Alamo so at 7 am there were sounds of construction. Overall, a disappointing stay mostly due to the quality and size of the bathroom.

Amazing Stay at the Menger Hotel.
The Menger Hotel is amazing for it's location and colorful history. Everything we wanted to do in San Antonio is within walking distance including the famous river walk. Our room was clean and comfortable and we were very pleased with our hotel accommodations. We will definitely book another stay at the Menger in near future.

Stayed here October 2024 and I cannot say enough good things about this hotel! It was convenient to walk everywhere and it’s a beautiful historical place. Sure, there is construction around but I didn’t find that it detracted from my stay at all. I would definitely stay here again!
