Two staffs were there. One was good. One was unkind such as I am busy so you wait with attitude. Parking fee? ok. Resort fee? I won't use it. Why you automatically charge it? It should be opted out.

From the minute you drive in you feel relaxed and on vacation. The landscaping of the grounds is lush & tropical, the pools are beautiful. The Firefly Restaurant is great. But what stands out is the are the staff, everyone is so helpful and friendly. Nate was checking us in with our two grandsons, he engaged with the kids, so they felt super comfortable staying there. He stored their bikes early, and checked if our room was ready ahead of schedule. This is my new go to place, because we come to San Diego once or twice a month. The Marina is beautiful to ride bikes by or sit out on the patio of the Firefly for brunch, overlooking the Marina. The room was nicely decorated, and I was super impressed with the plantation shutters at the windows, fabric curtains always look dirty.

PROS: The Dana is in a great location. Minuets away from the San Diego Zoo, Sea World, Downtown, MCRD, beaches, etc. the staff was friendly as well. CONS: the rooms are "average." For the cost of our stay I was hoping for somre. The on-site restaurant was 3 out of 5. Service was inconsistent. The food was good but for the cost we had much better dinning expirences in town. I wasnt expecting to pay for parking either. Although we did get a discounted rate for parking it was an unwelcome surprise when we checked in. OVERALL: Our stay was comfortable and clean. The hotel pools where welcoming. Would we go back the next time we are in San Diego??? Maybe. I have stayed at better hotels, but have also stayed at much worse too.
