Area around hotel and north are good and even has the trolley cars to ride and see how they turn around. John’s steak and seafood also very nice. All cities have trouble spots although it seemed less of an interaction Then you would find in NY.

I booked this hotel because my husband and I were going to a concert at The Warfield and this hotel had decent reviews and close to the theater. Upon arriving I was very nervous about the homeless and the area. I asked the guy at the front desk, Paris, about the area and the safety factor. He talked to me about it and he was right, nothing to worry about. Paris was excellent at the front desk! The hotel itself was also great. Clean rooms. The hotel wasn't loud with people and the AC worked well. There is a restaurant adjacent to the hotel where we are for happy hour.

The valet was not good. They didn’t get my friends car and couldn’t get ahold of the valet people. She had to get a taxi home. And a taxi back. Both of which the hotel said they would reimburse her then tried to not pay! I paid for a valet service that didn’t even work. Then the hotel said they would refund my valet and send email confirmation. I have not received either!

Nice staff and central location. Only draw back was that room was uncomfortably warm despite air conditioner being set at 65. Hallways and work out room were cooler than assigned room.

Everything but the surrounding area was great. What pissed me off is the mandatory $35/night fee. If it's mandatory, just add it to the published room cost Anyone taking the time to understand behavior science will see why charging more after the start will leave a poor experience

Property is nice and clean. Has a lot of nice décor in the main lobby and the rooms were a lot more spacious then I had expected. Would definitely stay here again.
