On a cul-de-sac in a good, safe, flat neighborhood in the geographic center of The City; recently, Time Out listed our hood as the 27th coolest in the world.
Guests have said: "great value"; "cozy"; "We appreciated Howard's map and list of suggested places to eat"; "comfy beds and very quiet which made for great sleeping."

The bedroom has a queen bed. The (larger) sitting room has a single bed, which looks sort of like a sofa, as well as a real sofa. Both rooms look out at the garden. Powder-room-size bathroom with walk-in shower. WiFi. Cable TV with Netflix et al. Wood floors.
Excellent bus connections: Downtown/Beach; Marina/MIssion. Easy walk to Golden Gate Park, Laurel Village, Clement St., and to two foodie destinations: Arsicault (best croissants in the country); Arguello Market (best sandwich—turkey—in The City). Also nearby: a classic diner, many coffee shops and restaurants, post office, pharmacy, banks, FedEx, and gas station.
Please note: no stove—alcove has microwave and mini-fridge and electric kettle, Braun coffee maker, and toaster, and glasses, dishes, and utensils. BBQ in backyard.

This is a fabulous neighborhood. Great location. A few blocks from Golden Gate park. Beautiful (Safe) street. Best of all you can park in the garage!! In SF that is amazing!!Lovely 1 bedroom apartment, with large living room which has an extra bed, couch, table perfect for two. "Kitchenette" has sink, small refrigerator/freezer, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, hot water pot, utensils, cutting board etc. Perfect for accommodating snacks and take out meals. You're not going to full on cook here but no need as there are plenty of tasty restaurant/takeaway options nearby and of course all over the city.The owner lives upstairs and is a perfect host. Available and helpful. This is a really nice set up. Highly recommend!

My 2 daughters and I stayed at this sweet property for a week touring schools around the Bay area. Howard- the owner-was helpful and kind. The location was great walking distant to Golden Gate park with a lot of cute restaurants and coffee shops nearby. I highly recommend.

Great apartment, great neighborhood
This property was located in a lovely, quiet neighborhood. It was an easy walk to some awesome restaurants. Howard gave us a great welcome packet with suggestions for neighborhood spots and a map to make it easier. The central location was a great home base for exploring San Francisco.

Quiet getaway in the heart of the city
A wonderfully comfortable, clean and quiet stay yet still within minutes of lots of restaurants and Golden Gate Park. Highly recommended. Howard was a wonderful host as well.

This was my second stay here because the location is fabulous near great restaurants and the USF Koret Recreation Center with a beautiful Olympic size pool I swam at every day ($27 or $22 senior day use). Parking is available in Howard's garage. Exceptionally quiet neighborhood and apartment.

Cute and quirky decorations. The longer I stayed, the more I liked it there. Clean and everything I needed. I enjoyed the back garden as well. You will need to bring your own shampoo and soap and coffee.

The owner was chill and accomdating with needs being responsive and made the stay wonderful. Helped that he was close by upstairs. He is communicative and responds in a timely manner. We felt safe in the area and was not concerned about the car or our belongings. Would reccomened and come back.

Everything about this spot was perfect. We were in SF for a conference and found a refuge in Howard's listing. Very comfortable, extremely clean, and quiet. Also, Howard is an absolute gem of a person. We would stay here again in a heart beat!

amazing time in SF at Howard's
Me and my friend used Howard's place as our home base in SF for a week and it was great! Howard gave us some excellent recommendations for food etc in the neighbourhood and turns out his place is just 5 mins away from the best croissants in the city! Easy to bus to downtown too, and we presidio and golden gate parks were super close! Kitchenette was a bit small but very well-stocked and we totally managed. Overall great experience!

A comfortable stay
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and the apartment was as described in the advert, with a variety of teas and coffee in the kitchen along with some chocolate! The location was a perfect peaceful haven after the bustle of sight seeing, with easy access to bus routes. The bed was extremely comfortable. Our host, who we met on arrival, was most welcoming, suggesting places to visit as well as providing a locally drawn map with recommendations for eating out. We would be very happy to stay again when we are in the area.
