Near Union square and across from the tenderloin!
We found it odd to be buzzed in but appreciate why since it is very close to the Tenderloin. Has a great mezzanine for online meetings. On the last night there was a lot of street noise as people were cleaning the former treasury building across the street, but reception people were considerate and professional.

When I came to the hotel the front doors were closed l told the hotel was closed i walk around to see if other door ti get in and i saw homeless ln the surrounding, i went back to the front then the front desk lady open the door it took a while to open the door i guess she was the only one working.

Loved my time here, vintage rooms with modern ammenities. Nicely situated for BART access and downtown walks. Front desk staff was great, easy check in and check out. Bar/restaurant was quite relaxing. Mezzanine above lobby also has a nice lounge area. When next in the area, will be my first choice.

Walking distance to Union Square, the cable car and the subway. Cable car or short Uber to Fisherman’s Wharf. Main purpose of the trip was to see baseball games. SF Giant’s Oracle Park was walkable. Nearby subway took us straight to Oakland A’s Coliseum. In summary, geography was perfect for us. And the hotel was clean and comfortable.

Very Nice Hotel. 1 block from BART. 10 Blocks from Giants Baseball Stadium. Comfortable bed and quiet room. Adjoining Italian Restaurant was good and good service. Will stay again.

Good no-frills choice for the budget-conscious
This hotel had some great things about it and some not-so-great things. The TLDR version: this is a good choice for people who are price-conscious, if you're willing to forego some of the comforts/perks of a more expensive hotel. Pros: 1) great location 2) nightly price was very reasonable 3) even though it was an older building, the room and the hotel itself were in good condition Cons: 1) room was a little small (older building) 2) bed was smaller than hotel we stayed at in Seattle. It was a little uncomfortable for 3 people staying in 1 room. I think it would have been fine with 2 people instead of 3. 3) toilet leaked when flushing the first night - maintenance came by next day and fixed it. 4) housekeeping did not clean our room one day by mistake and by the time we came back to hotel, housekeeping was gone for the day Overall, despite the negatives, I would stay here again. The location and price were so good, it outweighed the negatives for me. I would try to get a slightly larger room next time if there are any available. Like I said, the room we stayed in was a bit tight for 3 adults (2 beds that appeared to be full sized). The room was much smaller in comparison to our hotel in Seattle. I also did not mind the minor housekeeping/maintenance issues that much, but I did want to mention them to those who may be more concerned about those types of things.

the experience was terrible. When we arrived at 4pm to check in our original room wasnt ready. the deposit went from $50 to $107. we had asked why because on the phone the work told us it was only $50. we gave the workers name to the person in charge at the time and they apparently didnt know who their staff was. The body wash and hand soap ran out on the second day and we called the front desk to ask for more soap but they never sent anyone. Later that same day we get a call in the middle of the night being threatened of getting kicked out for some “noises” coming from our room apparently. Mind you it was 11:30 pm we were sound asleep. When we went downstairs to check out. They were quick to say that they needed to charge us for our stay. that there was no payment information in their system. I pulled out my bank statement with the hotel charge and my reciepts and some how the payment was found in their system magically. Overall this hotel is not worth your money. its surrounded by homeless and smells like urine outside.

Found rat poop on floor after check in, went down to tell staff who where not surprised at all in fact woman in front couldn’t wipe the smile off her face while she was trying to refund our hotel. Definitely not the best hotel if you’re trying to explore the city and have a good time.

For a quick trip to SF, this place is perfectly fine. Rooms are decent size, staff are lovely and the location is very convenient albeit a little dicey being on the outskirts of the tenderloin. Could use a bit of an upgrade as it’s a bit dated and there were a few stains on the sheets, but other than that pretty good.
