Great hotel, Bad service

I've stayed here before and had a great experience. This time was different. The room and hotel were great. Clean, modern, very nice. The service, however, was horrible this time. With the exception of the doormen. He was friendly and helpfull. The two men at the checkin counter seemed disinterested and had bad attitudes. During breakfast the waiters did not offer me coffee or juice like they did with everyone else. And, i was ignored when i tried to get their attention. I had to wait for them to take my plate to order coffee. Also theparking attendant was rude. As if he was in disbeliefthat i was a guest. I don't want to speculate why i received such bad service.

It is unacceptable to arrive at check-in and be told that the hotel will not have electricity for the entire night. They should notify this well in advance of the guest's arrival, especially if they had written to me to ask if my trip was for pleasure or business.

When I checked in, they told me there was going to be a programmed power outage, I checked in anyways, When I went to my room, the carpet in the hallway on the 8th floor was flooded with water. When I finally got into my room, there was a party next door and the music did not let me sleep. So I left before the power outage, and stayed someplace else, too many signs.

I really enjoyed our stay at the Catalonia Hotel. It was very well located in case we wanted to go east or west. Also the staff at every venue was extremely friendly and always checking up on us in case we needed something. Hope this hotel continues to do things as they are doing them now.
