We had a great experience staying at the Embassy Suites Downtown Sarasota! The included breakfast and evening reception were awesome. The staff was pleasant and accommodating and the hotel was clean. Self parking worked out great, and the location was very convenient for walking into downtown where there’s a plethora of outstanding restaurants. Our spacious corner suite had gorgeous views of the bay and had plenty of storage space. There’s a $25 destination fee that is charged every day, but it is credited back if used for food or beverage in the restaurant. We didn’t have any trouble spending it! Here’s a tip: If you’re unable to spend $25 during the day, you can come back to the hotel after dinner out and have an after dinner drink. Only a few negatives for us: the elevators are very slow and the area around the bar was cold~ air conditioning was constantly blowing cold air. Ladies.. just be prepared carry a sweater or scarf with you when in that area. The lighting is not great in the living area or bathroom. But they do have a lighted mirror which helped immensely for putting on makeup! The area over the sink had no lighting. Minor, but should be noted. Not deducting a star because we received good value overall. We will stay again!
