Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities, property conditions & facilities
MD Hotel Doksan is an older establishment that has recently undergone a name change. Located in a quiet neighborhood, the hotel is ideal for those seeking a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the city. However, it is about a 20-minute walk to the nearest train station, and the area lacks amenities, with only Lotte Mart just a four-minute walk away.
Unfortunately, the staff's demeanor leaves much to be desired; they are often unfriendly and have limited English proficiency, typically responding with simple "yes" or "no" answers. During our week-long stay, my wife and I noticed that our bed sheets were not changed despite daily requests for housekeeping. The carpets were old and dirty, and the overall cleanliness was disappointing.
Additionally, we experienced issues with the door keycard, which delivered an unpleasant static shock when opening our room. This problem seemed to affect not only us but also four other rooms occupied by friends on different floors.
The elevator service was slow, and the keycard system often malfunctioned, making it frustrating to navigate between floors. Overall, our experience at MD Hotel Doksan was far from satisfactory, and I would not recommend it for couples or international tourists. However, it may be a consideration for locals, as we observed a significant number of Korean guests staying there.
