LUXURY BUSINESS HOTEL

Having read conflicting reports about the location of the Hotel and emphatically so about the essense at the reception I was a bit skeptical when stepping in Eton! After a short, clean and safe journey using the Maglev and the Metro - first time in Shanghai without any Chinese knowledge but believe me taxis are for time wasters - I was most impressed by the essence that you find in Orthodox church and is rather pleasant, whereas the room was impecable! Large, clean, with air condition regulated pronto, huge flat screen -TV -also one smaller in bathroom -, bathroom big enough to play football in it, separate quarter for toilet, shower and an amazing bath tab at 31st floor! Wow I felt like a prince even I had stayed only few hours in my room. Let down was the expensive meals - even for European standards - the pricy beer (10 EUR a pint!!!!) and drinks over all. Otherwise, a great place. Will be back - preferably with romantic company. PS: Taxi burser most helpful, service if needed always there; Costa caffe next door really expensive.

Stayed there for a week before starting exchange studies in a local university. Hotel was very prestigeous and the location was perfect for getting to know the city. Metro entrance was infront of the main lobby. Housekeeping was on point since they clean rooms everyday and supply the room with fresh water on a daily basis. Would definetely recommend for anyone.

Staff 10+++. Rooms condition 7-, due poor sound insulation btw rooms (=open gap btw rooms at external window/wall connection rooms 4008/4007) and btw room/corridor (=door bended thus open gap btw doorleaf and frame) .

Nice hotel

Overall, the hotel is nice and I liked that we got a room on the 31st floor facing the skyscrapers. Bathroom is really good. Pillows are not good, but the beds are okay - a bit hard, but soft compared to other Asian beds. Our reservation included only one breakfast every day, so I went there once alone. It's alright, lots of stuff to eat, both Asian and Western, but not worth the price. We put a do not disturb -sign every night, and around 9am there was always a note from the housekeeping that they could not clean our room because of the sign. Seriously, 9am?! They did clean the room later in the day, but the note was kind of annoying. The gym is fine. I used the pool once, but when I was swimming, the guy from the gym and pool's reception started yelling through the glass I should wear a swimming cap. I didn't know where to get one so I just left. The swimming guard did not say anything while I was there.. Weird. The location is not so good, even though there is a subway station right next to it. It's about 2,5km walk to the TV Tower. There are not restaurants or shops near the hotel. All in all, worth the price we paid, clean and cosy with minor, not so nice, details.
