Our families planned a weekend get-away to take the kids playing in the snow. The cabin was cute and rustic. We enjoyed all the wood paneling and cedar beam ceilings. The bathrooms were clean, but the bed sheets were really dirty with hair, grime, and blood stains. The nightstands and closets were filled with the owners personal belonging, shaving razors, medications, and paperwork. The kitchen was an organizational nightmare with a crazy assortment of pots, bowls, serving-ware crammed into each cabinet. Tons of plates and cups stacked in each upper cabinet. The silverware and knives were dirty. The toaster was broken. Coffee maker did not work and the garbage disposal was also not working which caused to sink to back up. But the worst part was the entire mountain was on a “boil water notice” that required us to boil any tap water- when either brushing teeth, washing plates or preparing our meals we could not use tap water without boiling it. No notice was given to us before the trip so we were completely unprepared. Not having drinkable water is something Vrbo and the rental agency should have notified us about. It is extremely disappointing that we were not given this information and it made our trip much more difficult. We still have not heard back from the rental agency (Vacasa) other than “we are sorry for the inconvenience”. We will not rent a cabin that is managed by that company ever again and we caution anyone else who would consider using them.
