nice hotel close to malls
I have stayed at both ibis hotels in Shenyang. I would have to say that it is the entire hotel staff, that makes the stay very enjoyable. unless you are looking for a 5 star hotel, I would definetly recommend ibis.

MY FIRST TRIP TO CHINA!!
The room was very basic, but had all the basic requirements, like a desk, tv and a really big double bedand an en suite shower. The hotel staff were very accommodating about where to find a bank and a fast food restaurant etc. I felt very safe and secure in this location.

IBIS hotel - good rate and comfortable
Pleasant stay. Just relaxed food and drink. Inexpensive cabs with metres can flag down easily outside hotel. Otherwise bargain RMB30 they will take you to Zhonghualu

The hotel is very tall, and from up there you can barely hear the traffic. The bed is soft! There are black-out curtains so we slept well.

Great base of operations
I was in town to attend the Shenyang Airshow...I had to catch a bus at 7:00 in the morning and got home late at night each day...so this is the kind of hotel you want: a place to sleep and wash up and be safe. Nothing fancy, but fancy not needed

You need to speak Chinese to stay here
Good location at centerof the city, good looking, huge building outside. But very old inside. No hotel staff speaks English. Very poor wifi connection even hard to send emails (Google is blocked in China) not to mention images. I had to call a staff to connect room tel3phone line!

The worst Ibis out of all Ibis hotels stayed in.
Although I asked for a non smoking room, the room was smelling as if they specifically smoked in the room. I asked for a room change but the receptionists don't speak English. They ask for a deposit for everything separately even though I had payed for the room in advance. Breakfast was completely insufficient. Room sheets were not clean. Heater doesn't work. Wall plugs were a disaster. Only Chinese Tv.

Short jaunt to Shenyang
Conveniently located in the middle of the city with subway stops and shopping close by, the subway station is just a 10 minute walk from the hotel.

Nice and simple
Basic yet comfortable stay. Up to usual IBIS standards--the rooms are not spotless but are clean. Wood floors are nice with good water pressure from the shower head. The beds were really comfortable and the staff was super helpful and nice. There is a small Japanese restaurant in an alley right across the street that is SO GOOD. Close to a subway stop too which is nice.

Turned off heat and opened window. -15 degrees outside but stiflinf even with window open. Room was quite small.

Extreme no frills
Unless you enjoy sleeping on a box spring and not a mattress, this probably isn't the hotel for you. While the price is not bad and the room is clean, it is a bit bare in terms of comfort. There is a major shopping district to the west, about two blocks over, and is within walking distance of many tourist attractions if you don't mind walking. I would stay again if needed, but would probably spend a little more for a room with more comfort.

The general location of the hotel is good. There are coffee shops, food places, shopping malls, and movie theatre close by. The internet connection I thought should have been better. I use magic jack and if the internet connection is good then no problem. If it is bad it will drop calls. It was hit and miss at this location.

NOT AS ADVERTISED
The stay was horrible. The ad on hotels.com was false. When we walked into the room, we were nearly knocked down by the heat. I could not call the front desk because, though advertised as multilingual staff, no one spoke english. My Chinese girlfriend called the front desk and reported the problem that the air conditioning did not work, they sent a repairman who fiddled with it and left saying it was working without testing it. I tested it and it did not work. Another call to the front desk got a response that there is no air conditioning, even though it was advertised and the device was a malfunctioning air-conditioner. A threat to find another hotel go their response of " good, leave but there will be no refund for the entire booking". The repairman returned and took the safety device off the window so we could open it and get some air. I will never stay at another IBIS property and I hope you will learn from my experience and save yourself some time and expense and avoid this one.

Basic Essentials Provided at good price
My stay this time at the hotel was not as good as previous stays. Still rate Hotel as good economical basic Hotel. The breakfast is OK if you opt to have it at hotel. The lack of Internet connection and service assistance was poor. Will go again when need economic basic hotel, because the location is good and room comfortable. For recent stays please read other reviews.

Economical and located well
The Ibis hotel is economical and great for overnight stays. The reception desk is friendly and efficient. Hotel is located only a short stroll from shopping malls, restaurants and small shops.The room is very basic with no frills, yet is comfortable. The desk is ample for lap top computer and the internet connection was trouble free. Rooms are quiet and water is hot for that nice shower. The towels are a bit old but effective. In summary affordable comfortable no frills hotel. I have stayed here 4 times now and very happy.

Basic economic hotel - great value
Location of hotel is great. Short stroll to shopping mall, coffee shops, restaurants etc. Don't expect luxury since the rooms are basic with comfortable bed, good size desk, internet and shower/wc. Plastic cups .For overnight stays while exploring or doing business during daytime, Front desk service was prompt and efficient. Only basic English but sufficient. it is such great value that I will be staying again.
