Pass the Keys | Central cosy home 5 minutes walk from Shrewsbury
About this space
Enjoy easy access to everything you need from this perfectly located home base. Our home is on a quiet residential street but only 5-minutes walk from the historic and vibrant town of Shrewsbury town centre with its Tudor buildings, quaint back streets, independent shops, and an abundance of restaurants, bars, & cafes to suit all tastes. We are also on the doorstep of Shrewsbury Abbey. It is perfect for those looking for a home from home stay while visiting our beautiful town or working locally.
The space
You enter the house into our cosy lounge with dining area. The kitchen has a small breakfast bar and is fully equipped with all essential cooking utensils.
The kitchen leads outside to a small patio area with table and chairs to enjoy those alfresco evenings.
Upstairs, we have a double bedroom and bathroom with bathtub and shower.
We supply individual items such as shampoo, shower gel and moisturising cream, towels and cotton linen.
Guest access
There is free on street parking outside the property with the train and main bus station only a 15 minute walk.
No parties. No smoking. No pets.
Travel Cot and High Chair available on request.
Please be courteous to our neighbours when coming and going from the property, this is their home too. Thank you.
Our property is professionally cleaned and is set up to be remote access, ensuring there is no direct contact with anyone. The linen and the towels are removed from the property after each stay and replaced.
Supermarkets
There is a large Asda within a 2-minute drive or turn right out of the house and a 5-minute walk. There is also a large Tesco Extra, Morrisons and Aldi 10 minute drive north of the property and a Sainsburys, M&S Foodhall, Aldi and Lidle 10 minute drive south. In the town centre, within a 10-minute walk, there is a Tesco Express and a Foodhall in Marks and Spencers.
Local Restaurants
We have plenty of pubs within a stone's throw of our home but one of our favourites is the Dun Cow which is yards away and does great food. Also on the walk into Shrewsbury is The Peach Tree, which does a great breakfast, lunch afternoon tea or an evening out. For more fine dining we would recommend The Walrus or Lion and Pheasant which are located in town or Hencote has a beautiful view over the town. Italian - La Dolce Vita or Osteria Da Paolo. For a good curry The Curry House or Avatar. Pizza - Dough & Oil. The Istanbul Restaurant has a wide selection of charcoal grills. Momo's Noodle Bar is nice. The Olive tree or Casa Naranjo for Tapas. House of the Rising Sun and The Armoury is always firm favourites, along with Cote and Bistro Jacques. And not forgetting The Boat House, which has a great outdoor space and overlooks the river. Number Four does a great brunch. We also like Hickory's and have a Nando's and a Harvester near the cinema which is within walking distance. There are also many cafes, in the town, at the back of the Square we like the more traditional Gallery tea room. Or Ginger & Co, where you can watch the world go by. Don’t forget to check out the local Market Hall, where you can eat, drink and shop for local produce.
Local Attractions
A 10-walk from the house will take you into the historic town of Shrewsbury. Shrewsbury has a whooping 800 listed building from the 16th and 17th centuries. Unfortunately in the 1960s, some historic buildings were demolished to make way for a very different architectural style and I am sure you will spot these buildings. Just remember when you are walking around to look up. A walk past the train station, castle, and old library building is worth seeing. If you follow the river, you will come to the Quarry Park, which is a beautiful 29-acre parkland providing the perfect place to relax, enjoy walks, picnic, or play a game of ball with the family. At the heart of the Quarry lies the Dingle, a floral masterpiece cultivated by world-renowned gardener Percy Thrower, who served as Parks Superintendent for 28 years. It's a delightful sunken garden landscaped with alpine borders, shrubbery, and charming water features that is worth a wander around. We also hold many festivals in the Quarry, check to see what is on. Shrewsbury Prison is worth a visit and has featured on many TV series. www.visitshropshire.co.uk www.originalshrewsbury.co.uk We have a multi-plex cinema if you fancy checking out the latest blockbuster and The Theater Severn www.theatresevern.co.uk. Shrewsbury Prison is worth a visit and has featured on many TV series. Best to get out there and explore.
