A mixed experience

Pros: Excellent situation.Valet parking.
Cons: Room refurbishment sympathetic to the age of the building
The communal areas are attractive.While a variety of rooms are inevitable in such an old building ,clearly the product of the combining of a number of buildings,we were disappointed in ours.While the hotel was far from full,we we were placed in a room very far from reception and at the back of the building.While it was clearly old with original wooden beams,it lacked character.Depressing and ill matched furniture gave the room an unloved feel.However there was an excellent modern bathroom. Breakfast was good,with an excellent full English and a variety of cold items including a very good fruit salad. In general the staff seemed to lack enthusiasm

Nice hotel near the town centre

Staff looked after us and we're very helpful, only problem is it is difficult to find through narrow streets,

Ideal location bang in heart of town ,

Would certainly be going back , all well organised from moment you arrive ,comfortable room ,spacious refurbished bathroom , great breakfast all extremely pleasant
