Sweet Little Cottage
We loved our stay at Emkay’s place. Nice and quiet with a great little wooded beach to access as well as hot tub to use. Emkay was friendly and easy to communicate with. We spent so much time exploring the area, it was so nice to have such a clean and comfortable place to land each night. Would stay again!

Quick getaway
The place is beautiful surrounded by trees they have games to play by the creek the jacuzzi was nice too ! The host was very welcoming got us a bottle on our last day . Only thing I didn’t like is that the cabins where super close to each other it didn’t say on description i thought it was only gna be only one or not as close to us so it didn’t feel to private , the lights also went out so that really sucked since we were watching tv and also the drive way to come in super steep kept hitting the bottom of the car gotta drive in side ways Other then that everything was good very clean (:

Forest Sanctuary
This year I spent the winter solstice soaking in a hot tub in peaceful silence and perfect darkness. The only sound was the patter of rain on the leaves, which continued on the roof of my cozy cabin facing a perfect little stream. The air here is so clean and the river access is pretty good even for older folks. My wife and I found the host Emkay was quite lovely and communicative and has gone to great lengths to create a tranquil and safe space with lots of quirky personal touches.

Cute but not an isolated cabin alone in the woods
The host is super nice, helpful and friendly. They gave us a bottle of wine and a note for us celebrating our anniversary. That was extra kind. The cabin is cute but the photos don’t show the parking area and additional units around it, or the waste area behind it. To get to the creek is a bit of a walk along the asphalt drive by the main house and other rentals so it’s not as secluded as we envisioned. All the curtains need to be closed to have privacy since every window is visible from nearby parking, road, and other rental units. The unit was a bit smaller than anticipated but the bathroom was so small your knees are hitting the wall when sitting on the toilet. The most difficult struggle, however, was that there is no shelf or counter space anywhere in the bathroom to put anything. We were searching for a place to stay in Monterey. I’m not sure why this came up first in the lists in VRBO for Monterey? It is actually close to Santa Cruz we discovered and it’s a bit of a drive from Monterey. It’s a great location though for visiting Redwoods and that was a highlight of our trip. If you’re looking for hosts as nice as can be near the redwoods in Santa Cruz and a small but cute little place this might be a perfect place.

Lovely getaway in the Santa Cruz Mountains
Great location with access easy access to Soquel, Capitola, and Santa Cruz. We loved waking up to the sound of the creek and soaking in the hot tub after a long day with a lot of walking, so serene to be in a hot tub in the redwoods under the stars. The cabin was cozy and had everything we needed. There was a slight snafu with check in but the host responded and fixed the problem super quickly and was very sweet about it.

Great Getaway Before the Holiday
I booked my stay based off of this property’s proximity to the redwoods and the beach, as well as their reviews. The hosts were amazing and very accommodating. When I drove in there was a massive rain storm and Emkay was very kind making sure that the cabin was ready for my arrival. They went out of their way to be wonderful with the hiccups that happen naturally with significant storms and they were wonderful with my pup. I would highly recommend staying at this property for anyone considering it!

What a cute place!
We truly enjoyed our time at this beautiful cabin. With autumn in full bloom, the beauty of the trees and creek, the birds chirping, quiet nights, hot tub, nearby trails, and the coast just 20 minutes away, it was exactly what we needed for a restful and enjoyable getaway. Clean, charming & friendly
The studio (Ocean) was charming and clean. Super comfortable bed and beautiful view through spotless windows of the redwoods and creek below. You can hear the creek gurgling away in the middle of the night. A comfortable & scenic sitting area by the doorway, a peaceful walk down to a sitting area by the creek with redwoods and firs towering above. Enjoyed hearing and seeing hawks, chickadees and woodpeckers there. My only negatives were traffic noise (my suite was closest to road), a general smell of what smelled like sanitiser in the suite, and the water in the community hot tub was cloudy (but smelled clean).

Amazing view from our room. Being able to hear the creek is really nice. The place provides access to an entertainment area by the creek. Beautiful for a relaxed evening. Host was very helpful. Our cabins was smaller than we expected. However still a beautiful place to stay.

A Perfect Oasis for a Much Needed Getaway
My daughter and I absolutely LOVED our stay in our cabin. My daughter really wanted to "move-in". An easily accessabile but private and safe property like this is hard to find. Loved all the personal touches from the family that hosts. Hearing the creek as we went to sleep every night was heaven. Loved hearing all the wild life and how quickly we could get to beaches, shopping, and restaurants. We appreciated the great Wifi and Roku tv so we didn't miss the Olympics! We are DEFINATELY coming back!!
