We arrived from Canada at 10 AM. Guest services stated that although check in is at 3PM our room should be ready by 1PM. Checked in at 1PM not ready 1:30, 2 and 2:30 PM not ready. Other clients just arriving or were there after us, were presented with their room key. We got the manager involved and eventually gave us a room on the top floor. Hotel under renovations. Noise on roof unbearable. Complained and at 4PM noise stopped when the contractor’s day was over. Not a pleasant stay.

This property is undergoing renovations and as a result, it was quite noisy during the day. While it is very convenient to both the town and the cruise terminal, I would have appreciated some kind of discount because of the renovation work being done.

Brilliant hotel
The hotel was lovely and clean. We were going on a cruise so it was a perfect location when we needed to get to the port. The location is about 5 mins walk from the centre.

Great for cruise departures
Stayed there for one night before a cruise. Great location near cruise terminal. Walkable to coach station. Nice shopping mall (West Quay) very close by. The room was clean and comfortable. Excellent breakfast. Staff were helpful. We would stay there again.

Location of the hotel is very convenient for cruise terminal and for walking into the town. But the building definitely looks a bit rough in places and needs upgrading, particularly furnishings and bathrooms. However staff pleasant and helpful and food very good so may stay again.

Stayed here previously. Enjoyed. Had no idea construction was occurring. Somewhat annoying noise, workers to and fro. No refridgerator in room this time. Restaurant had great food but different location with 1 or no windows. Hotel should warn guests of ongoing construction and/or provide a discount for the annoyance. We arrived early and front desk was nice enough to allow storage of luggage. However they did state we could not check in until 3pm. Understandable , as that was hotel policy. I provided my name from the paid reservation. We returned about 2pm and waited in reception area for 3pm. Noticed others (new) guests arriving & were asking to check in earlier than 3pm and were allowed to do so. Eventually I asked if we could do the same, since others had been allowed to their rooms early. At that time, we finally were provided a key. Entry should be the same for all guests. Reception could have easily told us our room was ready while we and others were waiting near the front desk.
