A great central location with an excellent breakfast. But if you hope for a reliable internet, don’t stay at the back of the building. I was told by staff the bad service was due to the rain, but it was still hopeless on the next sunny day. I had to go into the tea room for it to work.

This is a lovely listed building so you have to appreciate that some areas of the property are in need of attention. The windows & seals were rotten but it’s a very old property so have to accept this. The room we had was quite small but a nice comfy bed & shower room which is all we needed for a two day stay. The staff were extra friendly & helpful. We had a lovely stay in an old quirky hotel !

It's a fascinating old hotel with different parts dating from the 15th, 16th and 17th centuries. It's not been much modernised so floors are uneven and ceilings in the bedrooms low- part of its charm, but some people would prefer modernisation and more uptodate facilities. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is freshly prepared and there's a wide choice of cooked food. It's in a good position, close to the cathedral and shops, and there's a car park.
