Cute boutique hotel adjacent to Hollander, which has shared amenities including pool, outdoor bar, and restaurant. It was just what we needed for a one night stop, and loved the vintage aesthetic. Conveniently close to downtown, about 2-3 blocks from dining and shops on Central Ave. Kevin at the front desk was also the best, thanks again for everything!

Old building and tiny rooms, but the aesthetics in the remodelation is cute and very attractive. Fortunatelly, what the hotel is missing on infrastructure is provided by the hotel across the parking lot, Hollander Hotel, where you can enjoy the swimming pool, bars, coffe shop and activities. The hotel has a parking area, in a night neightborhood in downtown relatively close to attractions. Larissa was very welcoming. Free sparkling wine in the lobby every evening. The bad things: NO COFFE MACHINE in the rooms. You have to come to the lobby between 7 AM annd 10 AM for a coffee, ok, it forced me to wake up and walk so I guess it's a good thing. Also, the rooms are small and specially the bathroom is tiny. Other than those little bad things, I would give it a 5 out of 5 and recommend the place. Oh, one last good thing, that beautiful street cat in the porsh made us smile, and cry while we missed our own.

Was recommended this hotel and so glad we booked the Avalon. Our room in the adjacent block was freshly modernised, spotlessly clean and maintained daily. Staff were amazing and the hotel offered morning coffee and a complimentary glass of wine or fizz after 5pm. Staff were amazing. The hotel was excellently placed for walking to the pier, marina and central. A shuttle car was available and we had use of the pool, restaurant, etc at The Hollander adjacent. All in all, a wonderful stay and highly recommended. Thanks to all staff!

Older hotel but well maintained, that being said it has small rooms and baths so be ready for that. The staff is friendly and efficient and the room more than met our needs during our stay. We would be happy to return again to the Avalon.

Room lacked a number of amenities that the average traveler assumes every hotel the visit will have. No fridge, no microwave, and a miniscule table for the only real surface to work with. Also, be aware that it is in close proximity to the freeway exit and a main road. Traffic can and will get loud at night from time to time, though ymmv as usual. Those concerns aside, an excellent hotel for the price.

The Avalon and its sister hotel the Hollander are the best in St. Pete! Reasonable prices, shared amenities, friendly and helpful staff, and convenient to everything, I wouldn’t stay anywhere else.

One must remember this hotel was built in 1902. With that in mind, one will appreciate the hotel. They have wine/champagne 5-7 nightly and coffe & tea in the mornings. Plus, there is a cooler of fruit-infused ice water in the lobby that was so refreshing as well as the availability to bottled water and ice in the lobby any time. There is a large veranda and lobby, The staff were helpful, always available, friendly and professional. Everything was very clean! The room is small as well as the bathroom and there are few outlets, so a multi charger would be an advantage. We would stay there again (even though we usually stay at resorts). We walked to the museums, the marina and restaurants every day. Parking is precious, so come early. We had breakfast at the sister hotel next door, The Hollander, each morning. The Salmon Eggs Benedict were to die for. The staff were friendly there and the pool was beautiful and clean. They offer poolside yoga and a massage/spa is on the premises.

What I loved about this property was the cool 1930's decor. I felt like I stepped into another time. And the convenience of being able to walk next door for lunch or dinner. And the pool and pool bar was a bonus. The pool was so cool! I was in old Hollywood for an afternoon. And the staff was super friendly especially Lorissa. This place is a gem!
