Horrible experience- RUN from this place
Upon our arrival on December 30th, we attempted to get the internet to work. The owner provided directions on how to reset the internet, which included instructions to call the internet provider if we couldn’t resolve the issue ourselves.After spending nearly 40 minutes on the phone with the provider, I was informed that they couldn't fix the issue remotely and would send someone out on the evening of January 2nd. This meant we would be without access to TV, a computer, and cell phones for four of our six days. The owner suggested I ask a neighbor for their internet or go to a coffee shop. I expressed my discomfort with those options and said I would need to find alternative accommodations. At that point, we left.In response, she told me I would still have to pay, stating that it was their busy season. I pointed out that no one would consider renting a place without access to TV, internet, or phone service for four days as this is equivalent to living without electricity.VRBO agreed with my position and refunded their fee, but they explained that I would need to speak directly to the owner for a full refund. The owner refused, claiming they could not guarantee internet access on an island. She genuinely thought it was acceptable for my husband and me to stay there without access to a TV, computer, or cell service for four days.I am currently disputing this charge with my credit card company, but I strongly advise anyone to avoid this place.
