We parked in the side lot of the property- the side door of the hallway where our room was located (room 8) had a door leading to the outside- unfortunately there is no sidewalk/walkway to the parking lot - it had rained the evening before and needless to say the ground was wet and muddy.

The property was great but the spa wasn’t open and the food has gone downhill since our last stay. The gentlemen who greeted us upon check in, I think his name was William, made us feel so at home. We loved our room and the remodel looked great.

Room Not Ready, Rest of Stay Fine
Check-in was not a great experience. We arrived at 3 (early, but sometimes rooms are ready) and told about half an hour and that we would get a call when room was ready. Came back at 4, room still not ready, told another 20 minutes. We decided to get an early dinner, room still not ready when we got back at 5:30. Hung around the lobby until 6:15 and room still not ready. And a staff member offered that their bar was open (but didn't offer a complimentary beverage for the inconvenience). There were several other folks waiting around as well. Left to go to an event and returned about midnight when we were finally able to access our room. The rest of the stay was uneventful. Room was clean and comfortable. I liked having a water kettle for tea and not having tea that tasted vaguely like coffee. A comp for drinks or breakfast would have gone a long way to erase the annoyance of not having enough cleaning staff and rooms not being ready since this is not a cheap hotel.
