Welcome to the Cottage at Sundog Homestead!

You will be staying in a private one-bedroom loft cottage on a 7-acre hobby farm with lots of wildlife. We have 2 barn cats that roam around. We have 4 roosters, 28 chickens that range freely during the day in our backyard. We sell farm fresh free range eggs for $5 a dozen or $3/half a dozen, please inquire for availability if you would like some during your stay.

The cottage is an updated old grain building separate from our main house (which is yards across). There is ample parking on the property. When we are home, you may see us working on the farm.

The kitchenette has a multifunction air fryer, microwave, toaster, dual brew coffee maker, and a fridge. There is no stove but an electric skillet to cook with. A grill (charcoal and gas) is at your disposition for year-round BBQ. There is a counter top water dispenser with hot and cold water.

The bedroom is up a staircase on the loft level. Be advised that the loft has a low ceiling and may be inconvenient for people over 6 ft. The stairs are steep which could be a problem for people with mobility issues. We have had guests who chose to sleep on the sofa (1 person). It does get hot upstairs in the summer, there is a portable AC and a fan to cool off.

There is plenty of space on the property for your furry friend to explore and run around, no need to keep on a leash! Please inquire if you have more than one dog, extra fee applies. We ask that puppies be crated when left unattended in the cottage.

The house has a septic system, please no wipes or sanitary products can be flushed. Thank you.

Enjoy the stars while soaking in a Scandinavian hybrid wood-fired hot tub and electric sauna! We would like our Mayo Clinic patients and their family to have a place to stay at a reasonable price so we would like to provide the option to use the hot tub and sauna for a pay-as-you-go fee of $15 per day of use. Firewood is available on-site. This option and payment methods are provided upon check-in.
