Stayed for one night on Sunday because of a live show on Sunday night and I had to work on Monday. The Occidental Hotel is very close to where I work. Booked and stayed there for the first time. Pub and Restaurant was closed therefore no noises, it was nice and quiet. The room was a bit small but for only a night, and considering the price, no complains. Microwave in the room was a nice addition to the minimalist room. If I have to stay in the city, I would love to come back. However, the Occidental Hotel constantly booked out, now I understand why :)

I really enjoyed my stay here and would definitely choose this place again. My room was clean, bed was comfortable but the best feature is the location. You are close to all the major Sydney sights, restaurants, pubs and shopping. The price was great for what you get. Highly recommended.

We didn’t expect a fancy hotel so we were very happy with our stay. The live-in staff member really tried to help me when I stuffed up the second booking.

This hotel has shared facilities which was noted at the outset. The facilities were clean and appeared to have been recengly renovated. TV in the rooms is hitcand miss often losing reception. This maybe due to hight buildings around the hotel and the aerial was rabbit ears. The big negative was the taste of thecwater .it tadted vile. Most likely to the age of the pipes. If staying bring bottled water. Would I stay there again? Most definitely. It is cheap and quality exceeds price charged

Location was perfect and if you don't mind not sleeping it was great. Its on a busy road so traffic and the pedestrian crossing sound kept us awake most of the night. Bring earplugs. Check in was a bit confusing, we went to the bar and was sent to another section. It's a very popular pub so there were a lot of people everywhere which made it a but tricky with our suitcases. They were accommodating to watching our bags as our rooms weren't ready yet
