My Amazing Adventurous Stay in The Grand Hotel
Top service level in terms of helpfulness and cleanliness maintenance. Due to Taiwan hit by Typhoon Kong Rey, I left Yilan hurriedly the moment I booked an additional stay 1 night on Oct 31. Originally I only reserved room for Nov 1 night. The counter staff was very helpful to get me a room to enable 2 night-stay continuously. She even found me a room for immediate/ early check-in. I was very grateful. Oct 31 night was scary with the strong howling wind banging and brushing on the full glass sliding door. I had drawn the curtains but I could feel anything could be engulfed from the balcony ( I stayed on the 9th floor). In the following morning, I saw the floor at the balcony covered with stones and stand. Also, a broken light cover. Assuming the debris would take some days clear due to manpower shortage. To my surprise, my room including the entire balcony were cleaned and tidied up when I returned to the room in the afternoon. Great compliment to the management and staff of The Grand Hotel in Taipei. The food in the restaurant was enticing and the walk along the underground secret path with the narrative of the historical past was amazing. The quick cleaning up after the typhoon was greatly commendable!

We loved staying at The Grand Hotel! The room was lovely, the hotel is beautiful and the staff was friendly and helpful. We actually extended our stay one night because of a typhoon. The concierge was very helpful in helping us figure out travel plans. The free shuttle to the MRT was a big help

This is a landmark hotel with a history to tell. One is overawed by the illustrious guests she has entertained, including the much-loved Ike. It was Madame Chiang’s idea to build the hotel and she really got sense and taste. The traditional Chinese architecture is stunning and endearing. Though nowadays she has turned to a clientele of common mortals, the Grand Hotel never disappoints.

Beautiful super luxuriouslandmark property. I loved the pool in the morning. The only issue I had was that I just arrived after a 16 hour flight from New York and I asked if I could take a shower at the club. They said I could only do that after 3 o’clock as a courtesy they could’ve let me use it earlier so I could go sightseeing refreshed.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities, property conditions & facilities
Magnificent hotel. With a lot of history. We liked our room and the balcony and view where we saw the grand entrance, view of the city including Taipei 101. There are just some common area spots where the carpeting needs cleaning & a refresh.
