Room itself was new, smelled of paint etc, and looked as if only a few people have stayed there. Building is historic with a great amount of history that can be looked up online.
Bottom floor room was pretty loud throughout the night and there was a picnic bench under the back stairs we could use, but no balcony as in the pics-the top floor has another door code so you cannot access it.
The neighborhood itself is up and coming, so if I were from somewhere else and not familiar in a rougher part of town, I would not have been comfortable. There are gates and codes so I felt safe inside, but wouldn’t want to walk anywhere. There is a bakery up the street that opens late and is a hint of what this neighborhood will become in a few years.
For what we needed the room for, it worked but it’s not for everyone (my elderly mom).
