The property we thought we were booking, a condo at Mt. Lodge, turned out to be a very small motel styled room. When I questioned the owner he said we got what we had booked. The owner was very specific on only contacting him, not the Lodge management. I asked him for few things: a larger room, a drinking glass and cup (there were only one of each provided), coffee for the coffee maker, a chair (no chairs were in this small room). He replied that he was a 'hands-off' manager and would not assist in any of the requests. Upon check out the Lodge management said there were many complaints about this owner. They used the term 'bait and switch' and said he has been accused of it before. They were going to address this at their next HOA meeting ~ I told them he is giving the Lodge (which is a wonderful facility) a bad name. Shortly after I asked for those few items we received an email which said "Please let me know if there is anything you need or if I can assist you in any way. Always here to help" BS!
The irony is that after we left we got an email saying "your experience and satisfaction is most important"
He also told us to feel free to leave an additional tip for the cleaning staff ~ a room of that size would take less than 45 mins and our cleaning fee we paid vrbo was ample.
I have never written a bad review but this owner certainly deserves one.
